CommNote is a simple shared “notebook” for the people closest to you — your partner, family, or roommates.
“We’re out of soap.” “Can you grab milk?” Share the little day-to-day things in real time, so nothing slips through the cracks and you spend less time going “I told you that!”
■ Three tabs, one shared space
• Lists — shopping and to-do lists. Add something and it shows up for the other person instantly; check it off when it’s done. Assign tasks to a person and pin the important ones to the top.
• Rules — keep your shared agreements, like “we take turns with the trash” or “quiet after 10pm.”
• Money — log who spent how much, like a simple shared expense tracker. See per-person totals at a glance, and tap “Split up” to settle who owes whom — automatically. Add rent and subscriptions as monthly fixed costs and they’re totaled for you. Review by month or the last 3 months in a tap.
■ Easy to start
• Just enter a name to begin. No complicated sign-up, no email required.
• Send a 6-digit invite code to pair with the other person.
■ Real-time sync & push
• When one of you adds or edits something, it appears on the other’s screen right away.
• Get a notification when the other person adds a to-do, completes one, or logs an expense (you’re never notified about your own actions).
■ Share without the app
• Show your lists to family or friends who don’t have the app via a read-only share link.
■ Great for one-off events, too — BBQs, parties, trips
• Spin up a notebook like “Aug 15 BBQ” as the shared space for that day.
• Assign the potluck and shopping (meat → Alex, drinks → Sam, charcoal → Jo) so everyone knows what to bring.
• Tap “Split up” to settle the costs — fair and automatic.
• Share the bring-list with guests who don’t have the app via a read-only link.

Set member roles
Admins can now make a member an Editor or a Viewer (read-only) — in notebook settings. Viewers can't edit, so accidental changes are prevented.
Also in this update:
• Friend referrals made easier (no account linking needed; credits keep applying automatically)
• Safer confirmation dialogs (Cancel is the prominent button)
• Amount-based cost split now requires the entered total to match
• Onboarding is now localized
• Small improvements and bug fixes
