ARPEGGIATOR Hold a chord, lift your hands, and Hexatone plays it one note at a time. Five patterns (up, down, up-down, as played, random), rates from 1/4 to 1/32 including triplets, gate length, and up to 4 octaves. It transposes by your tuning's own octave, so patterns stay in tune in any scale. Add or remove notes while it runs and the pattern picks them up without stopping. As a plugin it follows the host tempo and lands on the bar. HEXATONE MIDI, A SECOND PLUGIN Some hosts only take MIDI from plugins loaded in their MIDI slots. Hexatone MIDI is the same keyboard as a pure AUv3 MIDI plugin: load it in a MIDI slot (Drambo, AUM, Logic's MIDI FX), route it to an MPE-capable synth, and record. It makes no sound of its own. ALSO - Panic button: one tap silences everything and changes no settings. - Three new layouts: Accordion (C-system), Park, and Gerhard. - New palette: Signal, with colours matched in lightness so octaves read clearly. - The app's virtual MIDI port is now named "Hexatone Out". If a saved session used the old name, reselect the port. - The user guide is updated inside the app, with a walkthrough for sequencing Hexatone in Drambo. FIXES - Synths set to automatic MPE detection (Anima and others) now lock onto Hexatone reliably. Hexatone used to announce its MPE configuration once at launch, so a synth opened or routed afterwards missed it and fell back to single-channel mode, where chords retune each other. Hexatone now re-announces it whenever you start playing after a pause. - Apple Pencil velocity now works. It had never worked on iPad (the code checked for a capability only old iPhones had). Thank you to the player who reported it. - New installs now start with the Hexatone Bell voice, as the manual always said, and the sine preview tone is off by default. "None (MIDI only)" is now actually silent. Your saved settings are not changed; the sine is still available under Settings, Instrument.

What is new in 1.3 - Build instruments from a folder of samples. Hexatone detects each sample’s pitch, splits the keyboard between them, and shows you the detected map to confirm or adjust before importing. No .sfz file and no web tool needed, and because the app builds the instrument itself it can never mismatch its samples. - Bigger, more reliable instruments. Sample libraries now load up to what your device can actually handle instead of a single fixed limit, so larger packs work on capable iPads. When something cannot load you get a clear reason, and a pack that is missing or cannot read some of its samples warns you instead of quietly playing the wrong sound. Single-file imports that cannot be decoded now fail clearly instead of creating a silent instrument. Record Hexatone in your DAW. The Audio Unit now responds to incoming MIDI, so you can record what you play in a host (Logic Pro, AUM, Cubasis) and play it back or bounce it to audio, and you can drive Hexatone from an external MIDI keyboard or sequencer. Your microtonal tuning is preserved on playback (it reads back the per-note pitch bend Hexatone records). - Built-in user guide. The full manual is now inside the app, under Settings, so help is one tap away with no internet needed. - Various bug fixes.
