NEW SEASON
Nearby Carrier Rankings
See how nearby carriers rank based on tower coverage density, network generation, and your speed test results.
Signal Finder & Cellular Tower
Antenna 5G 4G LTE & Speed Test
Free · In‑App Purchases
See the cell towers around you, compare carriers in your area, test your internet speed and aim a satellite dish, all in one network tool.
Signal Finder shows cell tower data from OpenCelliD, an open community-built database. Tower positions are estimates, so each tower shows a confidence level.
CELL TOWER MAP
• Nearby towers on a map or in a list sorted by distance
• Filter by carrier and network: 2G, 3G, 4G/LTE and 5G
• Tower grouping, logo or text pins, and standard, satellite, hybrid or terrain maps
• Pick your carrier to see the tower you're likely connected to
• Explore other areas, save a Home place and get directions in Apple Maps, Google Maps or Yandex Maps
TOWER DETAILS
• Distance, direction, carrier, technology, Cell ID, LAC, MCC, MNC and coordinates
• With Pro: coverage range, sample count, average signal and first/last seen dates when available
• With Pro: Apple Maps Look Around imagery near a tower, where available
• With Pro: search for a tower by MCC, MNC, LAC and Cell ID
SIGNAL COMPASS (PRO)
Points toward nearby towers of your carrier (or all carriers if none are found) and shows their distance. Walls weaken signal, so moving toward a window or the side facing a tower may help. Signal Finder does not change your phone's signal or network settings.
BEST CARRIER
Each nearby carrier gets an estimated 0–100 score from its towers close to you, its newest network generation nearby and your speed tests on mobile data. Scores are estimates, not coverage measurements at your exact spot.
• Your carrier's score and rank for free
• With Pro: the full ranking, side-by-side comparisons and rankings for any address
SPEED TEST
• Download, upload, ping and jitter
• See what your connection suits, such as HD video calls, 4K streaming or online gaming
• Mobile data results count toward your carrier's score; Wi-Fi results don't
• Free tests each day, unlimited with Pro
• With Pro: full history with trends, a map of your tests, operator comparisons and CSV export
VIDEO STREAMING TEST (PRO)
Plays a short test video and measures start time, buffering and the highest quality your connection sustained. Uses up to about 20 MB of data.
SATELLITE FINDER
Pick a satellite to see its azimuth, elevation and LNB skew for your location. The compass view helps you turn toward it and warns you when it is below your horizon.
WIDGETS AND APPLE WATCH
• Home Screen widgets for your connection and latest speed test
• Apple Watch app with your connection, nearest tower and test history
• Start a speed test from your wrist while Signal Finder is open on your iPhone
GOOD TO KNOW
• Tower data may be incomplete, outdated or slightly off. The nearest tower is not always the one your phone uses.
• Your location is used to show nearby towers, rank carriers and run speed tests.
• Speed tests on iPhone use the Speedchecker SDK, which collects results with approximate location and may share them with third parties for aggregate network statistics. See the Privacy Policy.
