Animal Track Identifier: Paw

Footprint & Wildlife Scanner

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Identify animal tracks from a single photo. TrackID shows the species, why it matches, and when the animal is active then saves it to your field journal. Identify animal tracks from a single photo. Spot a paw print in the mud or snow, snap it, and find out who passed through. WHAT YOU CAN IDENTIFY Animal Track Identifier reads tracks and paw prints — the toe count, claw marks, gait, and size cues that point to the animal that made them. SEE WHY IT'S A MATCH This is a learning tool, not a black box. Every result shows the "why this match" chain — the exact features it read in your photo (toe count, claw marks, gait, size cues) and how they narrow down to the animal. You finish each scan knowing a little more than you did before. HONEST ABOUT LOOK-ALIKES A scaleless photo can't always separate a fox from a coyote, or a cat from a bobcat. Instead of faking confidence, the app names the group and ranks the look-alikes, then tells you the one cue (like adding a coin for scale) that would settle it. SMARTER WITH CONTEXT — ALWAYS OPTIONAL Turn on location and the app uses your approximate region and the time of year only to break ties between look-alikes — never to overrule what the photo actually shows. Location is always optional; deny it and everything still works. WORKS OFFLINE Out past signal? Core identification keeps running, so you're never stranded mid-trail. 12 COMMON SPECIES, DONE RIGHT Red fox, coyote, domestic dog, house cat, bobcat, white-tailed deer, raccoon, gray wolf, black bear, wild turkey, gray squirrel, and striped skunk — each with a field guide covering tracks, habitat, and the activity window when they're most active. YOUR FIELD JOURNAL Save every find to a personal journal, grouped by date, with a "seen before / near here" link so you start recognizing the patterns on your own patch. ASK THE NATURALIST A built-in assistant answers your follow-up questions — track aging, gait patterns, what to look for next time. Perfect for hikers, hunters, trackers, naturalists, parents on a nature walk, and anyone curious about who shares the woods. Read a track. Learn the animal. Animal Track Identifier requires an active Pro subscription, available as an in-app purchase, to access the app's features.
