Most site apps just add up cash in and cash out. That tells you how much money moved — not whether the job is making you anything. Asos answers the question a foreman actually has:

Enter the contract value (smeta), and Asos measures every cost against it. Profit is the contract minus what the object has really cost — including wages that have been earned but not yet paid. A brigade that has finished the work and not been paid is a cost the moment the work is done, not the day the cash leaves your hand. Most tools get this wrong and flatter the job.
WORKERS AND WAGES
