MySkyLabs: Moon Phases

Eclipses & Lunar Calendar

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

See the Moon for any date, follow a lunar calendar, find solar and lunar eclipses, and check NOAA space weather. MySkyLabs shows the Moon for any date: the phase, how bright it is, and when it rises and sets where you are. Choose a day within 100 years of today, or open the lunar calendar and move through the month. For your city, a map pin, or your current location, the app calculates moonrise, moonset, altitude, azimuth, distance, and the Moon's place in the sky. SOLAR AND LUNAR ECLIPSES Look up solar and lunar eclipses with three calculation levels: basic, scientific, and a level checked against NASA's eclipse canon. Each card shows the type, magnitude, duration, gamma, and Saros cycle. Search within five years of today is included. Eclipse Pro extends the search beyond that window. Where the calculation supports it, you can check visibility from your observing point. SPACE WEATHER Eclipse Pro adds space weather from NOAA: magnetic storms, solar flares, and solar wind, with severity and an archive for past dates. ON YOUR HOME SCREEN Small, medium, and large widgets. Medium and large layouts with the extra data are part of Eclipse Pro. ALSO IN MYSKYLABS • Notifications for full moon, new moon, supermoon, blue moon, and upcoming eclipses • Moon in a zodiac sign (tropical, sidereal, or astronomical) and the IAU constellation • A 2D or 3D Moon on the main screen • Supernova in Eclipse Pro: a visual theme, a 3D Moon scene, and AR • Astronomical calculations run on your device Eclipse Pro is monthly, yearly, or a one-time purchase. A subscription renews through your Apple ID unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Advanced Eclipse Engine 2.0 is more accurate than the previous release, and the type differences against NASA's canon are gone. Calibrated against NASA's Five Millennium Canon of Solar Eclipses (years 1-2999): every reference eclipse is found, and eclipse types match the canon. All 295 hybrid eclipses in that span are found. This version adds Full Espenak: refine one event, or search at most one year, with fuller ephemerides. Cards show real phase contacts: central-phase begin and end for the Sun, penumbral and umbral contacts for the Moon, and local C1-C4 at your site. If the Sun or Moon is below the horizon, we say so. That is not the same as being outside the path. Eclipse search stays free for ±5 years around today. A wider range is in Eclipse Pro.
