more New — iPad layout
- A standing sidebar in place of the tab bar. The four destinations —
Player, Library, EQ, Settings — and the library's own sections — All
Tracks, Favorites, Playlists, Folders — fit in one column, each with
its count.
- The mini player moved to the foot of the sidebar. It no longer floats
over the list hiding the last row, and it has room for the elapsed and
remaining times.
- A now-playing inspector stands beside the library — artwork, track
details, transport, and the Up Next queue, all visible while you are
still choosing what to play. The queue no longer costs a trip to the
player.
- Settings is a category column beside the setting you are editing,
instead of one form twenty sections deep.

New — Mini player
- A playback bar floats at the bottom of the library: artwork, title,
artist, and previous / play-pause / next
New — Lyrics
- Shows lyrics stored in the file: FLAC (Vorbis LYRICS), MP3 (ID3 USLT,
SYLT, TXXX), MP4 / M4A (©lyr)
- Shown in place of the artwork. Button at the artwork's top right, or
tap the artwork
- Button appears only on tracks that have lyrics
- Follows playback line by line when the lyrics carry timing
- Reads a .lrc beside the track (song.flac ↔ song.lrc)
- Import, move and delete carry the .lrc along
- Precedence: a tag inside the file wins; .lrc only when the file has none
- Handled on device. Nothing looked up or sent anywhere
New — Waveform progress bar
- Option to show the track's waveform as the progress bar
(Settings ▸ Waveform progress bar)
- Plain bar remains the default
- File read once on first play, then cached
- Bar height is the stretch's actual loudness (RMS)
New — HFR (high-frequency reconstruction)
- Detects each file's cutoff automatically (was fixed at 16 kHz)
- Shows what it found (e.g. HFR 15.1k), on the player badge and the
signal path
- Switches itself off on full-band sources (HFR OFF)
- Treble lift separated from HFR. Two switches in Settings:
· HFR — fills the empty band. On or off, always fully applied
· Treble Lift — 7 kHz shelf up to +9 dB. Amount set here
Bug fixes
- The mini player vanished on stepping into a library folder or a
playlist.

1.5.0 Aug 30
New — DoP (native DSD output)
- DoP, Pro, under Settings ▸ DoP. Instead of decoding DSD to PCM, the
original 1-bit stream is carried inside a 24-bit word to the DAC. A DAC
that recognizes the marker strips it and feeds the 1-bit stream straight
to its delta-sigma stage.
- DoP needs an external DAC that understands it and accepts the carrier
rate (176.4 kHz for DSD64, 352.8 kHz for DSD128). When that isn't the
case the track plays as decoded PCM instead, and the signal path says
so rather than failing quietly.
- Connecting a DAC that can carry DoP now asks whether to use it, rather
than switching silently — DoP turns the whole DSP chain off. The answer
is remembered per device, and the question is only asked when the route
genuinely accepts the carrier rate.
- The signal path now has a "Device" row: the sample rate the output
device is actually running at, plus its name, with a "Resample" row
when the OS is converting. This is what the hardware accepted, not
what the app requested.
New — Playlists
- CUE sheet support, so an album ripped as a single file plays as
tracks. Each track is a region of the file, and seeking, gapless and
crossfade all work within it. CUE sheets over DSD (SACD rips) too.
- M3U / M3U8 playlist support.
- Playlists appear in the Library tab between Folders and Tracks, found
anywhere in the library — including inside album subfolders, where CUE
sheets usually live.
- Playlists written in legacy encodings (a CUE from a Korean Windows box
is CP949, not UTF-8) load correctly. Entries pointing at files this
device doesn't have are left out rather than shown as dead rows.
New — External folders
- Under Library ▸ + ▸ Add External Folder. Any folder reachable in the
Files app can be added to the library — including a NAS share, if
you've connected the SMB server in Files. Files are read where they
are, not copied in, and the folder survives relaunches.
- External folders are read-only: no rename, import or delete, and the
swipe action is "Remove from Library" rather than "Delete". Removing
one never touches a file on that storage.
- When the server is off or the drive is unplugged, the folder stays in
the list marked Unavailable and comes back on its own once reachable.
New — Spectrum analyzer
- The spectrum analyzer is rebuilt: far finer bars, smooth 60 fps motion,
and an immediate response to the sound.
- Detail (bar count), under Settings ▸ Spectrum Analyzer ▸ Detail: Standard
(32), Fine (64) or Ultra (96). Defaults to Fine.
- Frame rate 30 / 60 FPS. 60 is the default — smoother and more immediate;
30 saves CPU.
- Auto-Level eases the reference to recent loudness so quiet passages stay
visible. Off falls back to a fixed −60…0 dBFS range.
- A peak-hold cap sits above each bar, marking the level it just passed.
- The low end (20–50 Hz) reads as a natural curve instead of a staircase.
- All of the above live under Settings ▸ Spectrum Analyzer.
New — Library
- The track list names the dominant instrument instead of the genre. The
same on-device model was often wrong about genre and holds up far better
on instruments, so the genre guess is gone entirely.
- The filter follows: pick from "Instrument" at the top of the Library.
A track that comes back with two (Guitar · Drums) is matched by either.
- Re-analysis is now a press and hold on the "Instrument" button. It walks
the whole library from scratch, so it asks first rather than starting on
a stray tap. (The entry under + is gone.)
New — Elsewhere
- Convolution Reverb now links to two free IR libraries — EchoThief and
OpenAIR — with a note on what kind of space each one holds.
1.4.0 Aug 19
New
- Virtual Reverb (Pro), under Settings ▸ Spatial. Studio, Live Club,
Concert Hall and Cathedral presets with an amount control (defaults to
Live Club at 35%).
- Virtual Reverb rides on HRTF rendering to wrap the sound into an
out-of-head space, so turning it on turns HRTF on, and turning HRTF
off turns it off.
- A high-pass (~180 Hz) on the Virtual Reverb keeps the low end tight
and adds space only to the mids and highs, so bass never turns to mud.
- Convolution Reverb (Pro), under Settings ▸ Convolution Reverb. Load an
IR file (WAV/AIFF) and the signal takes on that real measured space's
reverberation — a hall/cathedral IR gives the most realistic result.
FFT-partitioned, so multi-second tails run in real time; a Mix control
blends dry and wet, and the IR is level-normalized so it can't blast.
- Both reverbs are baked into FLAC conversion, with the tail allowed to
ring out instead of being cut off.
And a few bugs have been fixed.
1.2.0 Jul 19
This release is all about startup speed: library scan results are now
saved on device, so after the first launch your library appears the
moment the app opens.
Improved
- Faster app startup. Track metadata (tags, album art, format
info) is cached on device instead of being re-read from every file
on every launch — only new or changed files are parsed. The bigger
your library, the bigger the difference.
- The full-screen "Scanning…" message now appears only on the very
first scan, when there is nothing to show yet. Later refreshes
(relaunch, import, move, pull-to-refresh, the ↻ button) update the
visible list quietly in the background.
- Refreshes are lightweight: adding, deleting, or editing files only
rescans those files, and cache entries for removed files are cleaned
up automatically. Tracks in subfolders get the same treatment.
- Settings ▸ "Use Filenames as Titles" now applies instantly in both
directions. The embedded title tag is always kept alongside the
filename, so flipping the toggle no longer rescans the library.
(Previously every flip re-read all files.)
1.1.2 Jul 8
This release focuses on localization, FLAC metadata, and library
convenience: nine new display languages (eleven in total), proper
album art and tags on FLAC files, and easier filename-based library
organization.
Improved
- Added nine display languages: Chinese (Simplified and Traditional),
Japanese, German, Italian, French, Portuguese, Spanish, and Arabic —
eleven languages in total alongside English and Korean. Switch
instantly in Settings ▸ Language; the list is alphabetical with
English (the default) on top. Control direction (sliders,
transport) stays the same in every language.
- New "Use Filenames as Titles" option in Settings. When enabled,
tracks are titled by their file name (without extension) instead of
the embedded title tag — handy if you organize your library by
renaming files. Flipping the toggle rescans the library on the spot.
- Converted FLAC files are now named "Track-FLAC.flac" (previously
"Track (FIDEL).flac").
- Pull down inside a folder to rescan the whole library
(pull-to-refresh).
- Tidied the bottom selection bar shown when long-pressing a track:
smaller button labels (Convert, Move to Folder, Move to Library).
And fixed some bugs.
1.1.1 Jul 8
This release adds features and stability: selectable FLAC conversion
bit depth and an in-app audio output picker, plus a full audit of the
playback engine, library, and audio chain that fixed more than twenty
issues.
Improved
- FLAC conversion bit depth is now selectable (24-bit default /
16-bit). 16-bit files are about a third smaller, with noise-shaped
dither applied at the final quantization to keep quiet passages
distortion-free. Silence and untouched 16-bit signal are preserved
bit-exact.
- Removed the "Bit Depth Expansion" playback setting. The playback
path is 32-bit float end to end, so it never reduces bit depth —
the stage had nothing to protect. Dither now lives where it
actually matters: the 16-bit FLAC conversion. As a bonus, the
BIT-PERFECT badge is now reachable with default settings.
- Tap the Audio Output row in Settings to pick the output device
(AirPlay, Bluetooth, built-in speaker) right in the app.
- FLAC conversion now embeds title/artist/album/genre tags and cover
art, and DSD (DSF/DFF) files can now be converted to FLAC.
- Faster DSD start-up: the conversion cache is reused across launches,
and orphaned copies no longer pile up on every launch — saving
storage.
- Importing large folders no longer freezes the UI (copies run in the
background).
- Imports and moves rename on name collision ("Name 2") instead of
overwriting; failed items are reported in an alert.
- Standard-mode EQ bandwidths are now accurate, so the curve matches
the Linear Phase modes (bands used to apply ~30% narrower).
- A more honest BIT-PERFECT badge: convolution (room correction),
channel balance, polarity inversion, and loudness compensation now
disqualify the badge — and Bit-Perfect Mode actually forces those
stages transparent.
And fixed bugs.
1.1 Jul 6
New
- Full-band spectrum analyzer: turn on "Full-Band Display" in Settings →
Spectrum Analyzer to span 20 Hz up to Nyquist instead of the 50 Hz–20 kHz
audible band — so sub-bass and the ultrasonic content of hi-res sources
become visible (up to 48 kHz at 96 kHz, 96 kHz at 192 kHz).
- Spectrum display options: a "+3 dB/oct Tilt" (on by default) flattens the
naturally bass-heavy look of the bars, and the refresh rate is selectable
between 30 and 20 FPS.
Improved
- Low-end resolution at high sample rates: the analyzer's FFT size now scales
with the sample rate, so bass (down to ~20 Hz) stays accurately resolved
even on hi-res sources like 192 kHz.
- Progress bar feel: a fast flick now stops exactly where you lift your
finger — no more gliding past the release point.
- Lower CPU usage for the spectrum analyzer.
- Faster, lighter automatic genre analysis (removed duplicate work).
Fixed
- Fixed the last track in a folder abruptly fading out and stopping early
near the end when crossfade is on.
- Fixed a crash when playing some hi-res (high-sample-rate) tracks with HFR
enabled.
- Fixed the spectrum bars sometimes freezing instead of falling to zero when
playback is paused.
- Fixed the play/pause state not updating after another app took over audio.
- Fixed the lock-screen widget staying on "playing" after a track finished.
- Fixed the lock-screen album art disappearing after pause then play.
1.0.2 Jul 4
New
- Automatic genre & instrument detection: on-device AI (YAMNet) analyzes each library track for its genre and dominant instrument. Embedded genre tags are used when present; only untagged tracks are analyzed. Fully on-device — nothing leaves your device.
- Genre filter: a "Genre" button next to the search field lets you check genres across the whole library (including subfolders) and filter the list live.
- Crossfeed modes: choose between "Bauer/Meier" (accurate, natural) and "Exaggerated" (a more pronounced effect).
Improved
- Crossfeed quality: removed the centered-bass boom that appeared at higher amounts. The mono level now stays constant — only the spatial cue changes.
