Beam is the simplest way to send files, photos, and videos between devices — no accounts, no cloud, no waiting for uploads. Pick what you want to share. Beam shows a QR code. Your friend opens Beam, scans, and the transfer starts. That's the whole flow. WHY BEAM - Send anything — photos, videos, documents, many files at once - Originals preserved — HEIC stays HEIC, no transcoding to JPEG - Encrypted in transit — TLS 1.3 over QUIC, peer-to-peer - No accounts, no email, no phone number, nothing to sign up for - No artificial file size cap - Works without internet on the same Wi-Fi - Saves photos straight to the Photos app, other files to the Files app - Open-source — The implementation is fully open under Apache-2.0 License. PRIVACY Beam doesn't collect, store, or transmit personal data. There are no Beam accounts. There is no Beam server that handles your files — transfers happen directly between devices over encrypted connections. The atman project that powers Beam is open source.
