Wordy is a word search game with one simple promise: nothing interrupts you. No ads between puzzles, no countdown you can lose to, and nothing to buy. Just you, a grid of letters, and 200 themed levels.
Trace a word with your finger and it locks in. That's the whole game.
A CAMPAIGN THAT MIXES IT UP
Most word games run one long flat difficulty. Wordy doesn't. The first levels ease you in, and after that easy, medium and hard puzzles are shuffled through the campaign, so you are never grinding the same shape of board twice in a row. Every level tile shows its difficulty before you open it.
- Easy: an 8x8 grid with six short words, running across and down only. Small grid means big letters.
- Medium: a 10x10 grid with eight words, diagonals now in play, nothing written backwards.
- Hard: the full grid, ten words, all eight directions including backwards.
Because the difficulty of a level changes what it holds, no two levels on the same theme play alike.
BUILT TO BE READABLE
Turn on "Large letters" in Settings and the type gets bigger on every single puzzle, not just the small grids. If most word games feel cramped to you, this is the setting to reach for.
NO ADS BETWEEN PUZZLES
Nothing pops up between levels and nothing hijacks a grid you are halfway through. While you play there is only a small banner along the bottom - and one optional video hides even that for a full 24 hours. Video ads exist, but you choose when to watch one: for a hint, for a bonus, or to hide the banner. There are no in-app purchases.
PLAYS ANYWHERE, SIGNAL OR NOT
Every level and the Daily Challenge live on your device. Planes, tunnels, waiting rooms, patchy signal - Wordy does not need a connection. Sign in if you want your scores on the leaderboard, or play as a guest and keep everything on your phone.
A NEW PUZZLE EVERY DAY
The Daily Challenge is the same puzzle for every player in the world, built fresh each day from a bank of 25 themes, and it works offline like the rest of the game. Play on consecutive days to build a streak.
200 HAND-CRAFTED LEVELS ACROSS 59 THEMES
Animals, Nature, Space, Birds, Sports, Food, Pizza, Sushi, Sweets, Mythology, Dinosaurs, Halloween, Music, Travel, Tools, Jobs and dozens more. Every level was written and checked by hand, so the words always belong to the theme.
ALSO IN THE BOX
- One to three stars per level, based on how quickly you finish relative to the puzzle's size, so a star means the same thing on a small board as a big one.
- Pause and put your phone down at any point. The grid, your found words, your score and the clock all come back exactly as you left them.
- Stuck? A hint lights up the first letter of a word you have not found yet - earned by watching a short video, never bought.
- Replay any finished level: the board reshuffles, and only your best result is kept.
- An overall leaderboard once you sign in.
- Light, dark or system theme, plus sound and haptics toggles.
- An evening reminder to keep your streak alive - move it or switch it off in Settings.
