What you can do - Show the screen of an iPhone or iPad on your Mac just by plugging it in with a USB cable. - Watch the device screen live, which is useful for checking an app in action or for demos and presentations. - Record the device screen as a video file and save it on your Mac. - Take a screenshot of the device screen and save it as an image file on your Mac. - Mirror the screen of any iOS app without using the system iPhone Mirroring feature built into macOS. - Keep using your Mac for other work while recording continues in the background. Requirements - macOS 26 or later - An iPhone or iPad that can be connected to your Mac with a USB cable Privacy Mimicry Capture does not collect any personal information. Captured frames are only sent over the loopback (127.0.0.1) interface to a companion app running on the same Mac; nothing leaves your machine. See our privacy policy for details. A bundled command-line tool (mimicry-capture) lets you capture screenshots and screen recordings from the terminal, so you can drive Mimicry Capture from CI jobs or your own scripts.
