Eleven pixel pets, a focus timer, a to-do list, and a 24-hour file shelf, all behind one small companion.
It counts key presses only. It never reads what you type.
WHERE IT LIVES Your pet takes one of four homes and stays out of the way: the notch on a MacBook, the menu bar, the dock, or loose on the desk. Drag it between them whenever you like. There is no window to manage — the pet is the whole app.
IT REACTS WHILE YOU WORK Type, and it types along beside you. KeyPets stores a key-press count on this Mac and nothing else: not the characters, not the key codes, not the name of the app you are typing into. Reactions in other apps start only after you allow Input Monitoring yourself, and everything else keeps working if you never do.
HOVER TO OPEN WHAT YOU USE Point at your pet and your favorites orbit out around it — apps, Apple Shortcuts, or web links. One click opens any of them. A summon shortcut brings the pet to your cursor when it is somewhere else on screen.
A DAY OF FOCUS Set the timer, work through a Pomodoro, and keep today's tasks in the same small panel as the pet. No account, no sync, no sign-in.
DROP FILES FOR LATER Drag files onto the pet and it keeps a copy for 24 hours, then clears it. Your originals are never moved or touched. Drag a copy back out into any other app.
FIVE LITTLE GAMES Pocket Jump, Glasshouse Breaker, Garden Snake, Starlight Stack and Pocket Patrol, for when you need two minutes away. Scores stay on this Mac.
ELEVEN PETS The cat comes with the app. The Wave 1 character pack is a one-time purchase that adds the other ten, including a winged dragon, a slime and an axolotl.
OPTIONAL AI Studio Uchu AI Lite and Studio add chat with your pet and unlimited favorites while subscribed. KeyPets works fully without it, and without signing in.

Your pet can now come to you. Press the summon shortcut and it walks over to the cursor, then goes home when you are done.
Also in this update: • The shelf no longer keeps a handle on screen under the notch. Drop files straight onto the pet instead, and the shelf opens with them. • A file's remaining time now reads "24 hours left" instead of counting down in minutes. • Japanese is now listed as a supported language.
