Map Path quietly rewrites map links so they open in Apple Maps.
When a web page links to Google Maps, Waze, Bing Maps, or HERE WeGo — or uses a geo: link — Map Path changes that link so a tap opens the place, address, or coordinates in Apple Maps instead. No copy-paste, no app-switch dance.
It can also find addresses written in the page itself. Tap the Map Path button in Safari's address bar and it lists the addresses it spotted — tap one to open it in Apple Maps.
It runs entirely on your device. No network requests, no tracking, no analytics, no data collection.
WHAT IT DOES

• Finds plain-text addresses on a page and opens them in Apple Maps

• Keeps working as pages update — search results and single-page apps included

WHAT IT DOESN'T DO
• Doesn't follow or unwrap shortened links (goo.gl, maps.app.goo.gl) — that needs a network request, and Map Path makes none
• Doesn't redirect pages you're already on — it only rewrites links before you tap them
• Doesn't change your default browser or touch any app other than Safari
PRIVACY
Everything happens locally in Safari. Map Path needs access to the pages you visit only so it can find and rewrite map links — nothing leaves your device. Page text is scanned for addresses only when you tap the Map Path button, and is discarded immediately. No accounts, no servers, no third parties. The source is open for inspection.
SETUP
After installing, turn Map Path on in Settings › Apps › Safari › Extensions, and set All Websites to Allow. The app walks you through it — and on iOS 26.2 and later it can take you straight to the right screen.

On iOS 26.2 and later, "Open Map Path settings" takes you straight to Map Path's own page in Safari Extensions settings — no more digging through Settings, then Apps, then Safari, then Extensions to find it. The set-up guide in the app adapts to match, so the steps on screen are the steps you actually need.
Checked on iOS 27 and iPadOS 27. Map Path still runs on iOS and iPadOS 26.
Also in this update: map-link handling is now covered by an automated test suite, so the rule that matters most — never turn a working link into a worse one — is checked on every change.
As always, Map Path works entirely on your device. No tracking, no analytics, no network requests, no data collection.
