In an age where everything gets dismissed as AI, a camera that proves your videos are real. Press the shutter. Your viewer just opens a link. I'm Real. "Wait, isn't this AI?" When someone says that to you, the world today gives you almost no way to push back. I'm Real is a camera app that puts that way to push back into an ordinary smartphone. ■ You captured it for real. And still, no one believes you. A mukbang video drowned in "AI" comments. A family photo, animated by some AI tool you never asked for, drifting across social feeds. An AI image of a disaster zone, spreading as if it were the actual scene. A clip filmed at real risk on a battlefield, met with "probably generated anyway." There's something quieter, and deeper, than the fear of AI fakes spreading. It's this: real things get treated as fakes. You really did eat it. You really did train for it. You really were there. With no way to prove it, your effort, your achievement, your voice — all of it gets brushed off with "yeah, AI." That is a new kind of violence. ■ I'm Real shifts where the fight happens We can't win the fight that tries to "spot the AI" on screen anymore. Generators and detectors learn from the same data, locked in an endless chase. By now, the safer instinct has become "just don't trust anything." So I'm Real shifts where the fight happens. The instant your recording ends, the phone's flash blinks in a pattern nobody could have predicted. That light hits the thing in front of you, bounces back, and the camera bakes it straight into the footage. A one-of-a-kind physical event that only existed in that one moment. That becomes your proof of being real. ■ Four things happen the moment you stop recording 1. A random pattern, unknown in advance to you AND to us, is generated on our server. That becomes the flash's blink pattern. 2. Start and end times are sealed in by an independent time-authority. "When this was filmed" cannot be rewritten — not even by us. 3. The blinking light hits the scene, reflects, and is recorded into the video. A cryptographic fact and a physical reality merge into one file. 4. A tamper-evident signature is attached. Edit the footage later and it breaks immediately. All automatic. You just press the shutter. ■ Verification finishes inside a browser Every recording produces a shareable link. Send the link. That's it. Your viewer needs no app and no account. Open the link in a browser, and three things are checked on the spot: - Whether the file contains the right pattern - Whether the timestamps and signature are intact - Whether the flash light reads as a natural physical phenomenon When all three line up, only then can it be called "verified as real." Anyone, any number of times, for free. When a comment says "this is AI," you just paste the link. The argument is over. ■ We won't say "impossible to forge" We've thought about the worst cases — even a jailbroken phone feeding fake footage into the camera pipeline. Even there, recreating in real time a blink pattern unknown until the very end of recording, physically consistent with reflections, shadows, and light scatter, is on a different order of difficulty. And the human eye still catches the imperfections. Not perfect. But among everything an ordinary person can do with a smartphone right now, it's the strongest proof of "real" we know how to build. ■ Toward a world where "I captured it for real" is believed Just record. Just send the link. Your viewer just opens a browser. We defend the side of the real. --- Privacy Policy: https://im-real.app/privacy Terms of Use (Apple Standard EULA): https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/ Contact: contact@im-real.app About the subscription ImReal Plus and Pro are auto-renewing monthly subscriptions.
