Mealuna: Groceries & Meals
Shared list, pantry & meals
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Start with two free weeks. One shared home for your grocery list, pantry, meals, and split costs — always in sync with the family. Plan less. Eat better. Waste nothing.
Mealuna turns the week's food into one calm routine: what to cook, what to buy, what's already at home, and what it all costs — shared with your family, in sync on every phone.
YOUR AI ASSISTANT, CONNECTED TO MEALUNA
Connect Claude or another AI assistant that supports MCP (Model Context Protocol) and plan meals just by asking. It suggests dishes that suit you and your family — your household's diet, your group's favorites, what is in the pantry and about to expire — and puts them into the week's menu as drafts you confirm. It saves, edits and deletes your own recipes, including ones from a link, adds to your shopping list and updates the pantry. It starts read-only; you choose in the app whether it may make changes. It does not see allergy settings, so mention allergies when you ask. Part of Premium.
FROM LIST TO FILLED BASKET
Hand your shopping list to the store in one tap. Mealuna turns it into real products with prices and price per kilo, fills the basket for you, and on Rimi and Barbora it reads the cart back to show what actually landed in it. You finish and pay on the store's own site. Supported stores today: Selver, Rimi and Barbora in Estonia. Part of Premium.
SEE WHICH STORE IS ACTUALLY CHEAPER
Price the same list in each supported store side by side — with price per unit and a confidence figure, so a cheaper total that is quietly missing an item cannot fool you. Out-of-stock products say so instead of disappearing, and your own choice is never swapped behind your back. Part of Premium; side-by-side needs two or more stores switched on.
SCAN IN THE SHOP, PICK THE BETTER PACK
At the shelf, scan a barcode and see what is really in that pack: nutrition, a 0-100 fit score, and price and price per kilo when a supported store sells it. Where a supported store operates, the alternatives beside it line up against yours with price, price per unit and their own score — and if one clearly beats your pack, it is called out with the reason. Part of Premium.
COOK FROM ANY RECIPE ON THE INTERNET
Paste a recipe or import one from a link, and Mealuna matches the ingredients to your own catalogue: the ones it is sure of are linked for you, the doubtful ones you confirm in one pass. That link is what makes everything else work — the right quantities on your list, what you already have at home, and the nutrition behind the meal. Plan the week and let Mealuna build the shopping list from it, cook any amount with a portion control, and keep reusable sauces and spice mixes. Part of Premium.
ONE LIST, ONE PANTRY — ALWAYS IN SYNC
Build your shopping list together and watch it update in real time on everyone's phone. Share your household with a short join code, and stop double-buying.
NEVER WASTE FOOD AGAIN
Track what's in the fridge, freezer, and cupboards, with automatic best-before dates. Mealuna uses the oldest items first and flags what's about to expire.
EAT WELL, TRACKED SIMPLY
Follow calories, macros, and micronutrients (%NRV), with a tempo-relative calorie gauge — clear guidance, no guilt. See the week, not just one day, and keep today's calories left on your Home Screen. Part of Premium.
YOUR BODY, YOUR NUMBERS
Log your weight, body fat and muscle over time, with BMI worked out from your height and readings in kg or lb. Part of Premium; Apple Health sync is optional.
SPLIT THE COSTS, FAIRLY
Share grocery expenses in your household, see running balances, and settle up in a tap. Photograph the receipt and Mealuna reads the total off it and keeps the picture with the purchase. Multiple currencies supported. Free for everyone.
More inside: metric or US units, a loyalty-card wallet, Siri shortcuts, and 13 languages.
Private by design: sign in with Apple or Google — no passwords to remember. Your body measurements and food diary stay on your device.
Plan less. Eat better. Waste nothing.

more FIND IT HOWEVER YOU TYPE IT
Typing a plural or another form of a product's name, such as "potatoes" for Potato, now finds the product. When exactly one product matches what you typed, pressing Enter adds that product instead of a plain text line, whether you are adding to the shopping list, the pantry or the food diary.
MESSAGES YOU CAN SWIPE AWAY
The short messages at the top of the screen can now be swiped up to close them, and they stay open while your finger is on them. Swiping one away never undoes anything. A message about something you did not just tap for, such as an automatic pantry update, a scan result or an answer that took a moment to arrive, now comes with a short vibration.
TIPS WHERE YOU NEED THEM
Short one-time tips now show what a tap or swipe does on menu, food diary and store list rows, point out the barcode button when you add items, and introduce menu settings, importing a recipe from a link and "Shopping list in store". Each tip appears once and goes away when you use what it shows.
ALSO FIXED
- Renaming a shopping list item to the name of another item and merging the two now always keeps the name you typed.
- VoiceOver now names the "Add recipe" and "Generate recipe" buttons and offers a Close action on messages.
1.0.26 4d ago
NO ADS ON THE FREE PLAN
Mealuna no longer shows ads, and it no longer asks for permission to track you. Everything the free plan includes stays the same.
COOK AND LOG IN ONE TAP
When you log a recipe in the food diary and answer "Made now", "Cook and log" takes those portions out of the pantry and logs them at the time you picked, in one step. Part of Premium.
ALSO FIXED
- Editing a pantry item saves only what you changed, so a change someone else made in the meantime is no longer overwritten.
- Switching a pantry item to another unit, such as kg to g, keeps its amount and best-before dates right, and automatic restocking no longer takes the switch for the item being used up.
- "At home" in Everyday products always gives the item an amount.
- An "Always at home" product keeps its rule after Mealuna links it to the online catalog.
- An allergy change in "My menu preferences" now reaches every group you share your allergies with, whether you tap Save or just close the page.
- Cooking from the menu now tells you when a pantry item could not be lowered, instead of only saying it was cooked.
- A meal someone in your group cooked or moved is no longer undone when another phone cleans up its old copy of the menu, and a portion of it logged later is no longer taken for a second cooking.
- In store offers, confirming a product sold by weight keeps the right quantity on your list, and a "Link to" suggestion links the product shown on screen and syncs it right away.
- "Log and add another" in the food diary no longer logs a dish twice on a quick double tap.
- Yearly plans show what they equal per month more clearly.
- The app stays smoother while it syncs and makes fewer background requests when you only open Control Center or answer a system prompt.
1.0.25 6d ago
A TIDIER SETTINGS, THREE TABS
Settings now opens on a short list of categories with your profile on top, and a search field finds any setting in the app's language or in English. Your groups moved into Settings too, so the tab bar is down to three tabs: List, Menu and Settings.
FILL THE WEEK'S MENU FASTER
Give a meal a recipe it always gets, such as the same breakfast every day: in Menu settings, open the meal and choose it under Always. Generate fills that meal first, but never against an allergy or your household's diet. "Repeat or move..." copies a planned meal to other days at the same mealtime, or moves it there, with Undo. The meal picker shows what you recently had for that meal, and Generate puts your group's favorites first and avoids yesterday's dish.
CHOOSE WHERE RECIPES COME FROM
Recipe sources in Menu settings decides where Generate may take dishes from: Favorites, Often eaten, Our recipes, Verified or the Mealuna library. The choice applies to the whole group, and the "Use up before it spoils" card follows it and your diet too.
COOK ONCE FOR SEVERAL MEALS
Cooking a dish that is on the menu again later? Mealuna offers to cook it for those meals too: the amount adds up, and the pantry goes down once for all of them.
Menu planning is part of Premium.
ALSO NEW AND FIXED
- Store offers have a Suggested section: products other people picked for the same item.
- A shopping list row counted in pieces now orders the matching weight of produce sold by weight, instead of the store's minimum.
- An allergy change in Settings now reaches the groups you share your allergies with, and the allergen mark in the menu also covers the group's extra exclusions.
- Menu settings are simpler: each meal has its own page, and the rarer options sit under Advanced.
- The menu starts today, and a meal you already cooked leaves the missing list.
- "Confirm drafts" confirms exactly the drafts you see.
- A new phone no longer overwrites the group's menu settings when Generate is pressed before its first sync.
- After switching groups, the allergen mark and portions count the right group's members.
- An automatic offer no longer closes a sheet you have open.
- "Made earlier" in the food diary no longer misses a dish cooked again for the same meal.
- A scanned pack's details edited soon after it synced are no longer lost.
- A shared list no longer disappears and comes back during a sync.
- The menu opens and generates faster with a long history, and the app makes fewer background requests.
- Built-in foods now take their nutrition and piece weights from Mealuna's online product catalog.
1.0.24 Oct 23
PICK UP WHERE YOU LEFT OFF
Mealuna now reopens where you were: the shopping list or the pantry, the menu or your recipes, even after the system closed the app in the background. A tap on the diary widget or a food-log link still opens the food diary.
TYPED PRODUCTS FIND THEIR MATCH
When you type a product name, Mealuna looks for it in every language before it creates anything new, so a typed "carrot" finds the catalog carrot with its nutrition instead of making an empty copy. Pressing Enter in search now asks before adding a new product, and empty copies that never left this phone are replaced by the catalog product.
MORE ACCURATE NUTRITION
A packaged product's sodium now comes from the salt on its own label, and the built-in foods no longer borrow sodium and micronutrients from the wrong reference food. Your food diary, recipes and Apple Health follow the corrected values.
LIGHTER SYNC
Your group's changes still arrive within moments, but your phone now asks only for what actually changed. Your own edit no longer makes it read the whole group again, and renaming a list no longer makes every later refresh download everything. Less data, less battery.
ALSO FIXED
- "Suits me" on a store offer now reaches everyone in the group, together with the product it is about.
- "Made earlier" in the food diary is offered only while some of that cooking is still left, so a finished dish is not logged again without lowering the pantry.
- Switching to another group and quickly back no longer hides the lists you own.
- A member who becomes a group's owner now receives the purchases and pantry items of all the group's lists.
- Sponsor Group explains when every group you own is paused instead of showing an empty list.
- Tips now appear one at a time, and people in several groups get a tip on how to switch between them.
1.0.23 Oct 13
LOG A MEAL WITH YOUR AI
In the food diary, "Log with a photo or description" opens Claude or ChatGPT with a sentence ready to send. Add a photo of your plate or a few words, and your assistant answers with a link that opens Mealuna with the foods filled in — check them and tap Log. Typed something that the search does not find? "Ask AI" takes it along. The photo stays with your AI; Mealuna only receives the list of foods. Needs Premium and an assistant connected to Mealuna, and the app shows you how to connect one.
TYPE THE AMOUNT IN THE PANTRY
Tap the amount when you add or edit a pantry item and type it — 24 eggs no longer takes 23 taps. A new item starts at the amount you usually buy, changing the unit converts the amount (1000 g becomes 1 kg), and amounts up to 9999 work.
FASTER SCREENS, CALMER SEARCH
Switching between Shopping and Pantry responds right away, and the recipe, menu and food log screens do less work before they appear. Search opens from the magnifier without the content jumping, closes with one tap, and the keyboard no longer pops up by itself when you come back to a screen.
FIX A PRODUCT'S SERVING
The nutrition form has a new Serving field: correct a scanned product's serving size, and "1 serving" in the food diary follows it for everyone in your group. Part of Premium.
ALSO FIXED
- If your only group is paused, the List and Menu tabs now say so and let you create a group, join one with a code or leave the paused group, instead of showing a list that never syncs.
- Clearing your own allergy list now reaches your group.
- A copied meal is logged at the right times, and Undo no longer removes food you logged after it.
- "Made earlier" counts only cooking done before the time you ate, so the pantry is not lowered twice.
- A recipe without calories can no longer be logged as 0 kcal.
- The food diary day card no longer cuts off its verdict.
- "Always at home" on a list row now says what it added, with Undo.
- Taking back "Suits me" on a store offer now really clears it.
- A front photo taken while scanning a label now shows on the product card.
- New users get short tips on where to log food and how rows work; Settings > Show tips again brings them back for anyone.
1.0.22 Oct 8
YOUR PLAN ON IPHONE AND ANDROID
A Mealuna plan bought on Android now counts on your iPhone too, so it no longer drops to Free on the phone you did not buy it on. Renewals of a plan bought on iPhone now reach your account, so your other devices see it as well. A Family plan from either store, or one given to you, can sponsor your group. A plan billed through Google Play is managed there, and Settings no longer offers to buy it a second time in the App Store.
THE RIGHT SCREEN FROM THE START
Mealuna shows its logo while it signs you in and checks your plan, then opens straight on the right screen. A Premium member no longer sees the free version for a moment. If your plan was confirmed on this phone before, the app opens on it even without a connection. Screens that ask you to choose which groups to keep now wait until your plan is confirmed, so an upgrade made on another device counts first.
THE FREE TRIAL, SAID CLEARLY
When your account can still get the free trial, the Premium button on the store message says so: "Try Premium free for 2 weeks". The Founding Members plan now says it is billed from the day you subscribe, and that a free trial does not cost you that price.
ALSO FIXED
- In the food diary, a usual food that opens the full editor no longer says "From my pantry" when logging it does not change the pantry, and the editor keeps the exact portion you had.
- The group screen no longer hides lists over a plan's limit before your plan is confirmed.
1.0.21 Oct 5
A QUICK START WITH EVERYDAY PRODUCTS
An empty shopping list or pantry now offers everyday products, grouped by category. Tap Buy to put one on the list, or At home if you already have it and it goes into the pantry. Search for anything that is missing. Later, open the same sheet from the list's menu (the three dots at the top right).
ALWAYS AT HOME
Automatic products are now called Always at home and carry a green house. Keep a product always at home straight from its row, or open Always at home from the list's menu and search for any product. If it is not at home when you add it, Mealuna puts it on the shopping list right away. The Everyday products sheet gets a "Your products" tab with what is out or running low. Part of Premium.
FASTER FOOD LOGGING
Log food now asks "Where did the food come from?". Food from your pantry lowers the pantry, and you see by how much before you log; a dish cooked earlier is not taken twice. The empty search shows what you usually eat in that meal, one tap to log. "Log and add another" keeps the meal open, a food starts at the amount you ate last time, and touching and holding a past meal logs it again today. A recipe portion is logged from one card on the log sheet and the recipe screen alike, and a link from your AI assistant opens at the time you said you ate. Part of Premium.
YOUR LANGUAGE, YOUR NUMBERS
Changing the app language in Settings now changes every screen at once, titles too, and dates and numbers follow the app's language. Number fields take both a comma and a dot, and amounts read naturally, such as "25 g" instead of "0.025 kg".
ALSO FIXED
- A purchase checked off right before locking the phone now reaches the rest of the group in full, pantry included.
- With automatic decrease on, cooking or lowering an amount by hand no longer takes the same food from the pantry twice.
- Eating or cooking the last bit of a product now marks it out instead of leaving a crumb behind.
- When bought items go into the pantry by themselves, they no longer show up again under "Recently bought".
- If your details (sex, birth date, height) were never saved, the Menu tab asks for them once, so the food diary's daily goal is right.
1.0.20 Oct 2
RECIPES COUNT WHAT YOU ACTUALLY EAT
Recipes can now count only the edible part of an ingredient, such as the meat of a whole chicken, so the calories and fat per portion match what is on your plate. Such an ingredient shows "Edible part" in the recipe. See it in the new Homestyle chicken soup.
EASIER NUMBERS
Tapping into a number field, such as a quantity, portion, weight or cost, now selects the whole number, so what you type replaces it instead of being added to the end.
When you log food or edit a diary entry, the - and + buttons now always change the portion by 0.1. For a bigger amount, type it into the field between them.
ALSO FIXED
- Renaming a group no longer takes back letters you have just typed.
1.0.19 Sep 28
CLEARER NUTRITION ON THE PRODUCT CARD
The nutrition section on the product card now says what its numbers are per: 100 g, or 100 ml for drinks. While closed, it already shows the calories and protein, and where the data comes from. In "How well it suits you", the Protein row now shows grams, with its share of energy underneath.
Every product in the card's lists now shows its calories and protein per 100 g, so you can compare them without opening each one. "Same product, other options" is now called "Other brands and sizes".
ALSO FIXED
- If your session ends, for example after signing out on another device, the app now takes you straight to the sign-in screen instead of staying open without syncing.
- Signing out now warns you about changes that have not reached the server yet, even if the app had briefly lost the connection to your account.
1.0.18 Sep 26
Under-the-hood improvements to how recipes count nutrition.
1.0.17 Sep 25
YOUR FOOD DIARY ON THE HOME SCREEN
New Home Screen widgets show your day without opening the app. "Calories left" (small or medium) shows what is left of your daily goal, your pace and your macros; "Energy balance" (small) shows what you ate against what you burned. Tap a widget to open the food diary, or tap Log to add food right away. With Apple Health on, the widget reads the calories you burn by itself, so that number stays fresh even when the app is closed. Part of Premium.
MEALS FROM YOUR AI ASSISTANT, KEPT AND COMPLETE
A meal your assistant logs for you is now also kept in your own foods, under a short dish name, so next time you find it in Mealuna's search without the assistant. When the assistant lists the ingredients, Mealuna works out the meal's vitamins and minerals from its own product data, and says so when it cannot. Before you log, the sheet tells you whether it saves a new food or updates one you already have. Part of Premium.
ALSO IMPROVED
- The weekly trend now counts calories that other apps wrote to Apple Health as eaten, like the day card, so both show the same balance.
- Opening a food link from your assistant while the app was closed no longer shows the Premium offer to someone who already has Premium.
- A long press on one of your own foods in the suggestions now opens that food's own menu. It used to delete the first food in the row.
- In cooking mode, a sauce or stock you make ahead and do not have in the pantry now comes first, as its own "Make first" section, and the dish's steps follow under the dish's name.
- Cooking mode opened from the menu now hides optional steps that clash with the allergies or diet set in Mealuna, as the recipe view already did.
- "Log again" on a recipe entry keeps its vitamins and minerals.
- Renaming the default shopping list now starts from its name in your language.
- The Founding Member offer now says that a free trial does not cost you the Founding price.
1.0.16 Sep 24
ONE PLAN TO BUY, AND COST SPLITTING IS FREE
Mealuna now has one plan to buy: Premium, for yourself or for the whole family. Splitting costs, the running balances and the purchase history are now free for everyone, receipt photo included.
THE FOUNDING PRICE FOR PREMIUM MEMBERS TOO
If you already have Premium, on a trial, a promo code or the regular price, Settings now offer the Founding Member price while seats remain. Before you buy, it tells you whether it starts right away or when your current period ends.
PANTRY AMOUNTS THAT KEEP UP BY THEMSELVES
When nobody taps minus, the pantry drifts away from what is really at home. You can now let Mealuna lower the amounts of products you buy regularly by itself, from your usual buying pace, each time you open the app. A product that drops to its limit also goes on the shopping list when "Add staples that run low" is on, and you see what was lowered and added. It is off until you switch it on for a list in the pantry settings, and it asks first, because an estimate is not a look in the cupboard: if an amount is wrong, correct it and it carries on from there. Part of Premium.
ALSO IMPROVED
- The pantry's estimate of what is left counts each purchase from the day you bought it: two bags bought a few days apart no longer add up to more than you have.
- "Add from pantry" under Automatic products stays open, so you can add several products in a row, and no longer offers sauces and other things you make from a recipe.
- A paused group's purchase history now says the group is paused, instead of asking you to subscribe.
1.0.15 Sep 23
STAPLES GO BACK ON THE LIST BY THEMSELVES
Mealuna can now put a product back on your shopping list when it runs low in the pantry. Products you have bought at least four times at a steady pace are picked up from your purchases, together with how much you usually buy. That amount is added once the pantry drops to a limit you set with one slider, or only when something is out. You can add products yourself, leave any out, or give one its own limit, and a product already on the list is not added again. In the app you see what was added in a message with Undo; when you mark something "Out" or cook a recipe, that same message names it. Switch it on for each list in the pantry settings. Part of Premium.
PICK THE BETTER PACK
The fit score now rewards more protein per calorie, so a light mozzarella clearly outscores a regular one and the leaner product can be suggested as the better pick. Offer rows show their calories and protein, and "Other offers" can be ordered by unit price, price or score. Part of Premium, where a supported store operates.
RECIPES GO TO A FOOD LIST
Ingredients from a recipe, the menu or Cook now always go to a food list, even when a list for other things was open. If your group has more than one food list, the sheet that shows what will be added lets you pick which one. When cooking uses something up, it goes back on the list it came from. Part of Premium.
ALSO FIXED
- Checking off a purchase tops up the pantry row you already have, even when it is kept in another unit: 5 onions add to the onions counted in kg instead of opening a second row. This works when Mealuna knows how much one piece weighs, and the same goes for a recipe's "Add to pantry" and Siri.
- Changing only the unit of a pantry item with no amount no longer marks it as out.
- Two pantry rows of the same product with no amount no longer merge into one that reads as run out.
- The pantry's estimate of how much is left, and when something is due again, now follow your recent buying pace.
- Cooking a recipe from "Use up before it spoils" no longer closes everything before you can log your portion.
- A few sheets in recipes, the menu and the shopping list could close in the middle of a step. They now stay open.
- When the store cannot be reached, Mealuna says so and offers to try again, instead of reporting that nothing was found or clearing the results you already had.
1.0.14 Sep 22
A CLEARER DAY IN THE FOOD DIARY
The day card has a new look, with the past week and today in a strip across its top instead of a day menu. A filled dot means a day has food logged and an empty ring means it has none, so a forgotten day shows without opening anything. Tap a day to see it.
GOING OVER IS NOW VISIBLE
A macro bar used to stop at full, so 140 g and 210 g of protein looked the same. The goal mark now sits a little before the end of the bar, the bar keeps going past it, and the number changes color once you are over.
WHERE YOUR CALORIES WENT
When Apple Health gives Mealuna the energy you burned, the day card shows the whole sum: what you ate, what you burned in total with the active part under it, and the difference between the two. Your daily goal now sits under the calorie bar, next to its mark. Tap the pace label beside the big number, or the info button under the card, to see how the pace verdict is worked out.
TRENDS AND BODY CHARTS
Calorie bars include fibre as a fourth part, so a bar adds up to the day's calories, and fibre is also a line on the macro chart with its own goal. The selected day is marked on the chart itself. For body measurements you choose the time window: month, 3 months, 1 year or all. From 3 months up, a 7-day average leads and every measurement stays visible behind it. A long break between measurements breaks the line instead of drawing a trend that did not happen, and a goal far from your numbers no longer squashes the chart.
The food diary, trends and body measurements are part of Premium.
ALSO FIXED
- Recipes show fibre next to calories, protein, carbs and fat, including when you mark a recipe as eaten.
- Moving the selected day on a trend chart can no longer scroll it into the future.
1.0.13 Sep 19
RECIPES YOU LOVE, ONE TAP AWAY
Tap the heart on any recipe to keep it as a favorite. In the recipe list the heart filter shows your own favorites, or, when you share a group, the ones your group likes, and a recipe tells you who in your group liked it. The filters you pick are now remembered on this device, separately for the recipe list, Cook now and choosing a dish for the menu. One tap on "Clear filters" sets them back.
AI ASSISTANTS, UNDER YOUR CONTROL
Settings has a new AI assistants screen, right below Language. If you connect Mealuna to Claude or another AI assistant, each connection is listed here with where it sends your data, when it was connected and when it was last used. A connection can only read until you switch on "Allow changes" for it. After that, the assistant can update your shopping lists, pantry, menu drafts and recipes when you ask it to. "Disconnect" ends a connection right away. Connecting an assistant is part of Premium, but the screen is always there, so you can disconnect even after a subscription ends.
A NEW BATCH IN THE PANTRY KEEPS ITS OWN DATE
Buying something again gave the new batch the old batch's best-before date, so bananas bought today could show last week's date, and typing in a higher amount did the same. Now how long a product keeps decides it. Food that keeps a week or less gets a batch and a date of its own for each day you buy it. The longer something keeps, the further apart two purchases can be and still count as one batch. Mealuna still uses up whatever expires first.
MORE ACCURATE NUTRITION FOR OILS, HONEY, SYRUPS AND SPICES
Spoon and cup measures used one estimate for a whole food group, so a tablespoon of olive oil counted as about 8 g instead of 14 g, honey came out far too light, and spices and dried herbs far too heavy. Products whose own density is known now use it in recipe nutrition, the food diary and pack weights.
ALSO FIXED
- A sauce or mix you keep in the pantry no longer shows as missing in a recipe while the pantry holds it, and cooking it again adds to the same pantry row instead of starting a new one.
- Recipes imported from a link can now be edited, and they show the link they came from.
- The "Mine" recipe filter shows only recipes from your own groups. Recipes that other groups published no longer count as yours.
- "Discard drafts" and "Generate again" no longer delete a menu meal that has already been cooked. A menu slot that gets a new recipe no longer shows the old meal as cooked or eaten, where undoing "eaten" could delete a real diary entry and its Apple Health record.
- When a menu plan ends while the app is open, the menu moves on to the current plan instead of showing the one that ended.
- A product you create while saving a recipe, or one you type nutrition in for, now reaches everyone in your group, not just your phone.
- The search and add field has a clear button that also closes the keyboard.
1.0.12 Sep 17
A PRODUCT ALREADY ON YOUR LIST NOW GAINS QUANTITY INSTEAD OF NOTHING AT ALL
Adding a recipe's ingredient, an item from your meal plan, or something you have just run out of in the pantry, when that same product is already on the shopping list, used to do nothing whatsoever — the tap looked like it had worked and the list did not change. The row that is already there is now raised to the larger of the two quantities. Quantities are never added together and never lowered, no second row for the same product is ever created, and a row you have already marked into your cart is left exactly as it was. "Undo" now takes back only a row that the same tap created, so it can no longer remove a line you had put on the list yourself.
REMOVING A BARCODE YOU SCANNED IS NOW ON THE ROW ITSELF
In a store's list of offers, a product you had linked by scanning gave you no way to undo that: the action was hidden, because on that row it would have done nothing at all. Each row now carries one clearly named button, "Your scanned barcode", and the page it opens says out loud what removing does — the barcode also disappears from scanning and from your pantry, because that link belongs to your whole group. Until now this was only possible from the product's nutrition page.
ALSO FIXED
- The barcode page is no longer a fixed height, so "Cancel" can no longer be pushed off the bottom of the screen. In longer languages and at larger text sizes it was.
- The "Scanned" tag is gone from the offer rows. The row already shows the name, the price, the price per unit and the score; the extra mark changed no decision anyone was making.
1.0.11 Sep 10
SHARING YOUR ALLERGIES IS NOW A CHOICE YOU CAN SEE
"Share allergies with this group" used to sit inside the "I have allergies" switch, so with nothing listed you could neither see nor change what your group was being told about you — while the setting stayed active on the server. It now has its own section and stays where you put it: switch sharing on, add an allergy later, and your group gets it automatically. Switching sharing off still clears your allergies on the server.
PINCH TO ZOOM ON EVERY PHOTO
Product photos, offer photos, the nutrition label and your receipts all open full screen and zoom with a pinch, with the panning and bounce you expect — receipt small print is finally readable. On the barcode-linking screen, tapping a photo now opens it instead of picking that product.
MEALUNA STARTS EVEN WHEN ITS DATA FILE WILL NOT OPEN
If the account's local data file could not be read — after a phone is restored from a backup, for instance — Mealuna did not launch at all, for every account on the device, and the only way out was to delete and reinstall, which is exactly what destroys the food diary. Now a screen explains what happened and offers "Try again". Where the file is provably unreadable, "Start fresh" sets it aside instead of deleting it, so it can still be recovered later, and syncing stays off until the real data is back.
YOUR BODY PROFILE AND CALORIE GOAL STAY YOURS
Your height, sex, date of birth and calorie goal are no longer cleared when you sign out or switch accounts. A calorie target you typed yourself is no longer overwritten while the screen is open, and connecting Apple Health no longer mistakes the app's placeholder height and weight for a real profile — which used to drive BMI, energy needs and your daily target from a person who does not exist.
ALSO FIXED
- Changing "appetite" or "child" in your menu preferences can no longer wipe the allergies, sharing switch and appetite your group has on record for you.
- If those preferences fail to load, the screen now says so instead of showing defaults and letting you save them over the real ones.
- In the store comparison, the cheapest price per unit is marked with a green ring — often on a different shop than the cheapest basket total, which is exactly the point.
- Deleting your account also removes a data file that had been set aside as damaged.

YOUR NUTRITION NO LONGER DISAPPEARS BETWEEN HOUSEHOLDS
A product you scanned in one household kept its numbers only there. In another household it still turned up in search — with a plausible-looking "0 kcal / 0 g" and a made-up pack size — and logged that into your diary. Products now stay with the household that learned them, and where the data genuinely is not there, the food log says so and offers to scan the barcode or enter the macros yourself, instead of quietly diluting an entry that was already correct.
YOUR FOOD DIARY IS YOURS, ACROSS HOUSEHOLDS
The diary belongs to you, not to a household. Logging the same food on the same day no longer leaves two identical entries just because you switched households in between, and you can now log a food you first added in any household you belong to. Lists, pantry, recipes and scanning stay household-scoped.
SEVERAL ACCOUNTS ON ONE PHONE STAY APART
Store sign-ins, product photos, unsent contributions and receipts now belong to the account that created them. Siri and Shortcuts stop answering with the previous account's products after you sign out, and a second account on the same phone finally receives the curated recipe library. Please note: you will be asked to sign in to your grocery store once more.
"DELETE ACCOUNT" NOW REALLY DELETES
Deleting your account also clears what was left on the phone: product photos, unsent contributions, receipts and the local database.
ALSO FIXED
- Deleting a product no longer removes the matching pantry, list and nutrition rows from your other households.
- Weighed goods show their "per kg" label on the offer picker again, so the price cannot be read as the price of the whole piece.
- Offers with no nutrition data are no longer pushed down the swap sheet just for missing information, and an empty "similar products" list now explains that everything available is already shown.
- Menu plans, menu settings and offer preferences arrive live again instead of waiting for an unrelated change to trigger a sync.
- The "limited" badge can always be switched off again, "Add anyway" adds, and limiting a product no longer leaks it into the whole household.
- Undoing an eaten meal now also removes the entry it wrote to Apple Health.

A MORE HONEST STORE COMPARISON
Pricing your list across stores is only useful if the total means what it says. Three things could quietly make one store look better than it really was. All three are fixed.
A product you had chosen that the shop had run out of was still priced into the total, while the same comparison reported nothing missing. It now counts as missing and its price is left out.
When a shop limits how many of an item you may buy in one order, that limit lowered the total without saying why. The comparison now tells you how many lines were capped.
Confirming a capped quantity now updates your list. If you accept "send 10" on a line you had set to 20, the line becomes 10 - so what you buy and what lands in your pantry are the same number.
ALSO FIXED
- The list of stores could fail to load just after opening the app, making it look as though no store was available.
- Preferences and product choices could silently stop reaching your other devices and the rest of your household. Affected accounts repair themselves on the next sync; there is nothing to do.

THREE STORES, NOT ONE
Selver, Rimi and Barbora are now supported in Estonia. Pick the store you are shopping in and the whole app follows: your list turns into that store's real products, with its prices, its photos and its own pack sizes.
ONE TAP FILLS YOUR BASKET
Send your whole list to the store's basket in a single tap. Mealuna adds the lines for you and then reads the basket back to confirm what actually arrived, instead of assuming it worked. Barbora asks you to sign in to the store first, in the store's own page — your password never reaches Mealuna.
COMPARE THE SAME BASKET
See what your list would cost in each supported store side by side, with a price-per-unit index and a confidence figure, so a cheaper total that is hiding a missing item cannot fool you.
THE SHELF, HONESTLY
Products that are out of stock now say so instead of quietly disappearing, and your own choice stays visible rather than being swapped for something else behind your back. Where a store limits how many of an item you may buy at once, Mealuna asks you before sending, names the products, and leaves anything you do not confirm out of the basket.
ALSO FIXED
• Fibre is now logged and counted the European way — separate from carbohydrates, with one energy formula across the whole app.
• Product photos reach every store surface, including search results.
• A barcode that no store has claimed yet can be linked by you, once, for everyone.
• Recipes remember where they came from: a copy is always yours, and editing an AI draft no longer marks your recipe as AI-made.
• "Refresh from the store card" shows a diff before it overwrites anything.
• Numbers follow one language everywhere, and unit labels no longer fall back to Latin abbreviations.
• Barcodes padded with leading zeros resolve to a single product instead of two.
• Store data is scoped to the household you are actually in.

SEE WHAT YOU ARE HOLDING, BEFORE IT GOES IN THE BASKET
Scan a barcode in the shop and Mealuna now opens a product card instead of adding anything: the nutrition on that exact pack, a 0-100 fit score with the reasoning in plain words, and - where a partner store operates - the alternatives standing beside it, both the same product in other packs and the rest of that shelf. Any two can be compared side by side. Nothing is saved until you say so, and there are now two different ways to say it: the basket button puts the item on this shopping trip only, while the star means "this one suits me from now on" and is shared with your group. Scanning just to look leaves no trace at all. The same card opens from any row on your shopping list, and rows you have scanned carry their score right there in the list. Part of Premium, and the switch sits on the camera, so plain scan-and-add is always one tap away.
SCANNING KNOWS MORE PRODUCTS NOW
Barcodes are looked up in Mealuna's own product database as well as in Open Food Facts. Across a sample of real scans, about one code in five was known only to ours - nearly all of them Estonian and Baltic products the open database has never seen. When both know the product, you choose which name to keep, and you can edit it. Loose produce and weighed items are recognised for what they are instead of being looked up in vain.
A LABEL SCAN NO LONGER LOSES WHAT IT DID NOT READ
Photographing a nutrition label used to replace everything on the product, so any value the camera missed - carbohydrates, protein, salt, fibre, and every vitamin and mineral - quietly disappeared. What is already there is now kept, and the confirmation screen lists exactly what is about to change, with anything that would be lost shown first, in red.
NUTRITION MATHS, CORRECTED
Foods labelled per 100 ml were converted one step too many: milk came out around 3% high, oils around 8% low, and those numbers went into the diary, into Apple Health, and into recipe and menu totals. They are right now. Quick-Add in the diary also reads the same catalog values as every other screen, so one product no longer shows two different numbers depending on where you look at it.
ALSO FIXED
- Settings went from thirteen blocks down to seven, with the explanations tucked behind info buttons instead of filling half the page.
- The "Eaten" part of the food diary now gives each meal its own card, and the rows are tighter.
- A scan that fails because there is no signal says so, instead of looking exactly like an unknown product.
- Nutrition you type in by hand now actually appears on the product afterwards.
- The product page says which values came from the store and which came from Open Food Facts.
- Telling Mealuna "this code is not this product" now clears the saved preference as well.
- Product cards: swipe back works, the page returns to the top when you switch product, weighed items open, photos zoom, and the small controls are easier to hit.

YOUR LIST, IN THE STORE
Mealuna now turns your shopping list into real products at the store: prices, price per kilo, photos and the store's own product names. Mark the ones that suit you and Mealuna keeps picking the cheapest of them from then on. If a match is wrong, search the store's assortment and add the right product yourself. When the list is ready, hand the basket over to the store's website in one tap, then tell Mealuna what you actually bought so the pantry and the shared costs stay honest. Part of Premium, and available where a partner store operates - Selver in Estonia today.
DOES THIS PRODUCT SUIT ME?
Every store product carries a 0-100 number with a small meter. Tap it and Mealuna explains what the number is made of - protein as a share of energy, sugar, other carbohydrates and fibre - in plain words, per 100 g. Where the store does not publish fibre, Mealuna fills it in from Open Food Facts and says so.
CHOOSE THE COUNTRY YOU SHOP IN
Stores, prices and offers now follow a country you choose, not the region your phone happens to be set to, and country names appear in your own language. If you land somewhere else, Mealuna notices the time zone change and offers to switch - it never switches on its own.
ONE QUESTION, AND THE PANTRY ADDS UP
When a recipe needs grams and your pantry counts pieces, Mealuna asks once how much one piece weighs, and from then on the pantry, the shopping list and cooking all agree. The same product no longer sits in two rows because one was in pieces and the other in grams.
ALSO FIXED
- Locking your phone while cooking no longer wipes the recipe screen: your ticks and your place on the page are still there when you come back.
- Clearing a pantry field now reaches the other phones instead of staying on yours.
- Cooking says out loud when it skipped a pantry row, instead of silently leaving it.
- Store settings and the loyalty card belong to you, not to the household, so a co-member no longer sees or changes them.
- Quantities line up with the pack size on every path, not only when you used the plus button.
- The price tolerance slider and long product lists no longer stutter.

COOK ANY AMOUNT
Every recipe now has a portion control. Set it to two portions or six and everything follows: the ingredient amounts, what counts as missing, what goes on the shopping list, the cooking steps, and how much leaves your pantry when you are done. Components scale as a batch - half a jar of sauce, or double - and the pantry records the amount you actually made. When you finish cooking you can mark it eaten and log only your own portion.
SALT NO LONGER HIDES A RECIPE
"Use up before it spoils" used to require every single ingredient to be in your pantry, and one missing pinch of salt was enough to drop a recipe from the card. Seasonings and cooking oil are now assumed to be in the cupboard: seasonings are still named on the row as missing, oil is not mentioned at all, and neither of them blocks a suggestion. Your shopping list is unaffected - it still asks for the salt.
A DIFFERENT ORDER EVERY TIME
Browsing recipes now leads with the meal you are actually near - breakfasts in the morning, dinners in the evening - and shuffles within that block, so the same three dishes are not always on top.
FIBRE, AND WHAT THE DAY ACTUALLY ADDS UP TO
The day card now shows fibre next to carbohydrates, and a "Difference" line between what you ate and what you burned. Without an Apple Watch the resting part of that number is missing, so Mealuna fills it with an estimate from your own body data and marks it with a tilde, instead of reporting a deficit that is not real.
ALSO FIXED
- Searching recipes now respects the Type filter instead of quietly ignoring it, and when the filter hides a match it offers to show it.
- The "Use up before it spoils" card showed recipe titles in English even when a translation existed.
- Tapping one recipe on that card opened two.
- In oz and cup mode, units showed raw text instead of tsp, tbsp, cup or oz. All 13 languages now carry the full set.
- The confirmation after cooking appears immediately, no longer flickers, and "Done" cannot fire twice while it is open.

COOK IT ONCE, USE IT ALL WEEK
Sauces, marinades, spice mixes and cured fish were always awkward to keep as recipes. They are now their own kind - a component - and Mealuna treats them that way. Make a jar of sauce and it lands in your pantry with its real yield; use it in a dish and the jar goes down. Components carry their nutrition and allergens into every dish that uses them, so your food diary stays honest. They stay out of your meal plan and out of "what can I cook right now", because a sauce is not dinner. A new Type filter keeps them out of the way until you want them, and when one runs out the shopping list asks whether you will make it yourself or buy it ready-made.
LOG A MEAL YOU FORGOT
The food diary now reaches a week back. Choose the day and the time in one step and the meal lands where it belongs. Press and hold any entry to edit it or log it again.
A DIFFERENT RECIPE EVERY TIME
"Generate again" now genuinely offers something else instead of circling back to the same dish, and the course you asked for wins over whatever happens to be in the pantry.
START WITH A FREE WEEK
The free trial is now visible where it matters - on the paywall, on the subscribe buttons and in Settings - with its length and price written the way your App Store region writes them.
ALSO FIXED
- Choosing your language is a searchable list now. With 13 languages the old row was unreadable.
- A missing allergen record no longer counts as safe when planning meals: unknown is its own answer and is shown as unknown. What Mealuna promises about allergens now matches what it actually checks.
- The food diary could overstate the nutrition of a portion. The per-portion rule now lives in one place.
- A pantry item's unit can be changed again when the quantity is zero.
- Restoring the normal shelf life of a product now reaches the rest of the family.
- Deleting a recipe asks first, and a component that another recipe depends on cannot be deleted out from under it.
- Recipe filters no longer render half-finished for half a second.
1.0.3 Aug 8
RECIPES NOW ARRIVE FROM MEALUNA
The recipe collection has moved to the cloud. New recipes, improvements and text corrections — in all 13 languages — now reach you on their own, without waiting for an app update.
YOU CAN SEE WHERE A RECIPE CAME FROM
Every recipe now shows whether it was drafted by AI and whether a person has actually made it and checked it. Our built-in collection is AI-generated and is labelled as not yet verified — we would rather tell you than let you assume. A new "Verified" filter shows only the recipes someone has vouched for.
BETTER RECIPE SUGGESTIONS
Ask for a snack and you get a snack, not a full dinner. "Try another" now genuinely proposes a different dish each time.
SAFER BODY DATA
Height, weight and body-composition entries are checked before they are saved, so a mistyped number can no longer distort your calorie and macro targets.
ALSO FIXED
• The quantity sheet now saves what you typed — one clear Save button, instead of a Done that quietly discarded it.
• "My details" no longer loses unsaved edits when you open the weight screen, and asks before you leave an unfinished form.
• Shopping list changes made by household members could silently fail to reach the rest of the family. Renaming, deleting, changing the list type and the automatic pantry switch are all reliable now.
• Dismissing a reminder now reaches the person who sent it.
• On a shared device, a second account could open to an empty recipe and product list.
• "Ate elsewhere" is now "Mark as eaten" — logging a meal to your food diary does not depend on where you ate it.
• Corrected content errors in several built-in recipes.
1.0.2 Aug 4
FIND IT HOWEVER YOU TYPE IT
Typing a plural or another form of a product's name, such as "potatoes" for Potato, now finds the product.
