Security update: the app's core is now on the latest version, closing a recently reported issue in the framework Bandout is built on. Also in this version: long-press any message to reply, copy, edit (for 15 minutes) or delete it, like in WhatsApp. Pull down on the main screen to refresh. Group chats load more reliably when you come back to the app, and everyone now shows up with their real name.

Opens straight away. The app now shows up the moment you tap it instead of waiting on a blank screen, and gets to your events noticeably sooner, even on a slow phone or a bad connection. Lighter download too: the app no longer carries all five languages around, just yours.

Opens instantly: Bandout now remembers what you saw last, so your events, chats and groups show up right away, even with weak signal, and refresh in the background. Faster start when you open the app, with the events of your city loading first.

Faster: the home feed shows up right away, even when you reopen the app after a while. Chats work the way you are used to: they open with the latest messages and load earlier ones as you scroll up. Long press any message to react with an emoji, and swipe to reply in private chats too. Fixed an issue that could freeze the app when coming back with weak signal, plus other speed improvements.

Faster startup: the app opens noticeably quicker, and signing in with Google no longer keeps you waiting. Invite links now open the event itself, with its poster and description, so you can see what the night is about before joining the group. The group you were invited to appears first, highlighted. Tap a group's location to open it in Google Maps. You can now delete private conversations. New, clearer map, and the app takes you to your own city instead of always the same one. Notifications are easier to spot, plus stability fixes.

Opened a group invite before installing? After signing up, Bandout now takes you straight into that group and tells you you're in. Private messages now show up in My chats. Mute a group from the group itself or from notification settings, without switching off all your messages. Swipe a message to the right to reply to it. Also fixed: sharing an invite sends just the link, and a crash when leaving the map.

Now you can answer back. When we ask you something, there is a box right there in the notification to write your reply, and we will match you with the people going to the same night. Dutch is in, fully translated. And the app opens in the language your phone is set to, so it stops asking. Near me now really means near you, and the ranking no longer holds on to events that already happened. ADE is in Bandout: Outworld at the Ziggo Dome, both Verknipt nights at AFAS Live, and I Hate Models with Nico Moreno at the Gashouder.

Fixed the map: a provider notice was showing across the streets. It is now dark too, like the rest of the app. New search to find a city or an event on the map. And tapping a dot now shows which group it is, its description, and lets you join right there without leaving the map.

Moving between screens is now instant. The first time you opened chat, the map or your profile there was a wait of about half a second. Now the app gets them ready on its own while you are not using it, and they open straight away. We also removed unnecessary waiting when entering each section.

A cleaner feed, and a new welcome. • Event posters show their real colours again instead of being tinted purple • Group names read clearly over any poster, light or dark • Unread messages show a count, not just a dot • New welcome that asks which events you would actually go to • The venue now shows the real address instead of the event name • Groups no longer have a seat limit, so nobody is left out • Women only and men only groups, marked before you join • Faster loading, and the back arrow works when you open Bandout from a shared link

You can now create several groups for the same event. Before, if you already had one, the app put you into the existing group instead of creating yours. Also fixed: the zoom that stayed stuck when searching events, the icon overlapping the text when creating a plan, and event descriptions are now in English. The app also loads faster.

Sharing an event now sends a link that actually opens. Fixed profile and name saving, your chosen language now sticks after closing the app, and group chats no longer clear when you send a message. Deleting private messages and reporting abuse now work reliably instead of failing silently.

Group chat fixes: messages no longer fail to appear when you open a chat, and deleting a message now removes it instantly for everyone. Improved security for voice notes.

Real event covers with tap to expand view, a prompt to rate your night after each event, chat notifications grouped per conversation, and speed improvements.
