Tap a word in the lyrics to see what it means in English. It is built for people learning Japanese, to use alongside the romaji display. ・Looks up the one word you tapped, in the bundled Japanese-English dictionary (works offline) ・Finds the dictionary form even when the word is conjugated (悲しかった → 悲しい) ・Marks negative and potential forms so the meaning is not read backwards ・Tells apart words that share a spelling but differ in reading (空 = sora / kara) ・Press and hold to select and copy a meaning, or translate it into your own language from the menu ・Says so when a word is not in the dictionary, instead of doing nothing Turn on Settings → Lyrics → Show romaji to use it. With the dictionary on, one tap shows the meaning and two taps play from that line. Also in this release ・Romaji can now be turned on from Advanced settings, without changing your device language ・The timing editor now shows when an MP3 is playing (MP3 cannot be seeked to the sample, so timings drift) ・The lyrics no longer jump back to the playing line while you are reading a word

・Romaji readings no longer split in the middle of a word. They now line up word by word, with particles kept separate. ・Romaji marks the syllabic "n" with an apostrophe when a vowel or y- sound follows (金曜日 → kin'youbi). ・Fixed furigana overlapping into an unreadable clump when long readings sit above single characters. A reading that doesn't fit is scaled down slightly. ・When lyrics are looked up automatically from a track's title and artist, the two are now sent separately, so a song whose title is also an artist name is matched more accurately. ※Romaji readings are available when the app's display language is not Japanese.

Lyrics that stay exactly in sync — now polished together with the people who read them. • Retime lyrics you downloaded and send the change to their author as a suggestion (sign-in required) • Accept or decline the suggestions you receive, line by line • Mac (macOS 13 or later): open lyrics in a small window of their own • Harmony split into upper and lower bands per part; five levels for how the per-character colouring advances • Read back a suggestion you sent, with the neighbouring characters and line-relative timings • Clearer "Vocals only", a faster launch, and fixes for crashes, silent playback and lagging lyrics

■ The screen stays on while you play The display no longer dims while lyrics are on screen and music is playing, so you are not tapping the screen awake in the middle of a verse. It goes back to normal as soon as you stop, and while you are away from the Lyrics screen, so it costs you no extra battery. ■ Choose the width of the floating window The floating lyrics window used to be locked to the full width of the screen, which left it only able to move up and down. Settings now has a Width option — Narrow, Medium or Wide. A narrower window can be parked in a corner, where it stays out of the way of whatever else you are doing. Fewer characters fit on each line in return, so the setting shows a to-scale preview to choose from. ■ Display fixes • Fixed characters after a Japanese comma being drawn slightly too far left, which made a space appear in the middle of a word. Furigana placement and the sweep speed over that character are now correct too. ■ Authoring fixes • Fixed timing tags tapped at a slower speed such as 0.5x being stored about 23 ms earlier than the same tap at normal speed. • Fixed the trailing hold at the end of a line being lost when adding furigana or when loading a lyrics file. • The copy/paste highlight now flashes once instead of twice, so the editor stops ignoring input sooner. ■ Other • When an online lyrics search resolves to a single confident match, it is now adopted straight away instead of showing a list. • Fixed the automatic lyrics search for a newly added song never being retried after a single failure, such as a dropped connection. • Addressed audio staying distorted after returning the playback speed to normal.

■ Read ahead during instrumentals When a song has an intro or instrumental break of 10 seconds or more, the line that resumes the singing now slides up to the top and the lines after it appear one by one. Every row you have configured gets filled, so there is plenty to read while the music plays. Works in both the mini display and the overlay window. ■ Fixes • Fixed repeat-all getting stuck on an Apple Music track and playing it over and over. Entries with no audio are now skipped so playback keeps moving. • In the overlay window, a song with no lyrics attached now shows its artwork with the title and artist in large, outlined type. ■ Lyrics over other apps • Open the overlay from the Lyrics menu and the lyrics keep flowing while you use other apps.

Lyrics can now float in a small window over other apps, so they keep scrolling with the music while you do something else.
