Mycelia has changed its mind about one thing: who decides what a mushroom is. It's you. The app is a notebook, not an expert — and this release makes that true everywhere, not just in the small print. YOU NAME THE FIND • Photograph a mushroom and go straight to your own field note. Nothing guesses at it first. • The green button is now "Pin it" — it opens the camera and pins the spot, and that's all it claims to do. • Home opens on your own foraging map once you've logged a few spots. EDIBILITY IS YOURS TO SET • Every find carries the label you gave it — edible, unsure, toxic, or nothing at all, which is the default. • Mycelia never fills it in and never checks it. • Where we hold reference material, it's shown as "what field guides say", clearly marked as theirs. • Look-alike warnings are unchanged and still lead: they're the part that protects you. AI SUGGESTIONS ARE NOW OFF BY DEFAULT • Turn them on in Settings if you want a second opinion. Left off, no photo ever leaves your phone. • When on, suggestions are offered after you've written up a find — never before. • They return species names to go and check. No edibility verdict, and no confidence percentage dressed up as certainty. SAFETY • The poison-control number now matches your country instead of always showing a US line, and you can set your own. • A one-time acknowledgement at first launch, so nobody meets this app without knowing what it won't do. Mycelia does not identify mushrooms and will never tell you something is safe to eat. Misidentification can be fatal — always confirm with a printed field guide and someone who knows the species where you forage.

Mycelia has been rebuilt around one question: what's this mushroom? IDENTIFY FIRST • Home now opens on a single Identify button — photograph a mushroom and get an answer in seconds. • Today's finds shows what you've logged since this morning, pinned to a mini-map. SAFETY BUILT IN • Every find now carries a "Before you pick" card naming the toxic look-alikes for that species, and how to tell them apart. • Edibility is labelled on every entry in your log. • One tap sends a find to iNaturalist when you want a human to confirm it. A SIMPLER APP • Five tabs became two — Home and Collected — with the lens always in reach at the centre. • Collected holds everything: a dated timeline, a by-species view, and your foraging map, all behind one switch. • Private and Community finds share a single toggle, so it's always clear whose finds you're looking at. ALSO • Return predictions estimate when each spot is likely to fruit again. • Share a find as a card, or open directions straight back to the spot. • New pine-dusk theme. Never eat a wild mushroom based on an app alone. Always confirm with an expert forager or a field guide.

Foraging is better together — 0.9.7 introduces the community. • See what other foragers are sharing: flip the new Private/Community switch on the Map and your log, with live counts on each side. • New map pins show whose find is whose — a lock for your private finds, people for community finds. • Community finds now include full photo galleries: the mushroom, its gills, and the habitat it grew in. • Share one find of your own to unlock the whole community feed — after all, you don't find mushrooms, mushrooms find you. • New foragers start with a sample find to learn the ropes, and handy first-run tips throughout the app. • Capture extra photos with automatic labeling and swipe through them on every find.
