I created "Fili Rocketry: Fly It, Log It" because I was entering all my launch data into spreadsheets and thinking, "I wish I could actually keep my photos and videos with the rest of the data". It grew from there, and thanks to the help and feedback of members of the rocketry community, it has grown into a product that I'm proud to share with you.
The philosophy of "Fili Rocketry: Fly It, Log It" is maximum and minimal data entry. You shouldn't have to do most of the data entry manually. A lot of data that you use or go lookup can actually be derived automatically. So I've aimed to make it as smooth as possible to do work on your macOS computer and then automatically synchronize that via iCloud to your phone (and vice versa). So no more mailing simulations to yourself, no more entering data into the computer and then again into the phone, and no more transferring photos back and forth.
Similarly, I want to make it possible to use any altimeter or simulation you can throw at it. Right now it's compatible with at least 12 different types of altimeters, but if you have one you want, just submit it in the app and I'll do my best to add compatibility. Naturally, it works with files from the two most popular simulators.
The app also lets you plan flights, keep track of your inventory, turn those plans into flights of record, view and organize your rockets, and automatically pull weather information from your photos. The weather information actually improves as more detailed forecasts and information become available, so you will be able to pull in full wind information in high detail and to great elevations.
There's also a certification walkthrough for Tripoli, NAR, and UKRA. Those haven't been endorsed by the governing bodies. It's mostly checklists to help you make sure you don't miss anything, and I've done my best to present that as it was written on the website for those organizations at the time of publishing the app.
Altimeter Brands supported:
FlightSketch, Jolly Logic, Featherweight, PerfectFlite, Eggtimer, AltusMetrum, Blue Raven, Missile Works, and Entacore. Should auto-parse odd delimiters, European decimals, or no headers. Your altimeter isn't here? Let the developer know!
