A fix for freezes when Pond is driving hardware synths over MIDI. Notes used to leave one at a time, which is more than a Bluetooth MIDI link can carry once the pond gets busy, and Pond could lock up waiting for them to go out. It now sends them in groups, and out of the way of the interface, so the app stays responsive however dense your pond gets. If a connection does fall behind, Pond eases off on new notes instead of stalling, and it always sends the note-offs, so nothing hangs on your gear. Timing is tighter everywhere, too. Each note now goes out at the exact moment the wave reaches it, rather than whenever the app next got round to it, so busy ponds and fast divisions stay locked, and very fast settings no longer skip the odd note. In a plugin host, notes and emitter drips land on their exact spot in the timeline instead of the start of each audio buffer, and emitters you play from a DAW fire right where you put them. A few smaller things: the built-in sound comes back on its own after a phone call or Siri, a still pond stops redrawing itself (easier on the battery, and on your DAW's CPU in a plugin), and the plugin now remembers its interference velocity range when you save a session.

Presets grew into patterns you can perform. There are 48 slots now, you can drag them into whatever order you want, and a little switcher sits right on the pond so you can step to the previous or next pattern without opening the menu: play a pond, switch, play the next, build a whole piece live. Your patterns come with you into the plugin too, since the app and the plugin now share one library. Each emitter can send on its own MIDI channel now. Hold an emitter to pick its channel, or set the default for new ones in the menu. Point a few emitters at different channels and each one drives a different synth, so several drip rates can play across your whole rig at once. Every emitter starts on channel 1, so nothing changes until you move one. The menu folds up now, too. Tuck away the sections you aren't using so only the controls you play with stay in view, and your layout sticks between sessions. And density reaches a full pond now (100% instead of 40% max). Most of the slider still lives down in the sparse range, where most patterns do.

A reliability fix. If Pond's saved state ever became damaged, the app could fail to open; it now recovers automatically and carries on. Nothing else changes.

What's New (version 1.2) Play the emitters over MIDI. Switch the Emitters section from Drip to MIDI and your emitters stop dripping on their own and start firing from incoming notes, one emitter per note up from a base note you choose. Play them from a keyboard in the app, or sequence them from your DAW when Pond is a plugin, and the pond keeps your rhythm. New emitter rhythms, too. Hold an emitter to open a rate menu and pick straight, dotted, or triplet feels for the drip rate, so you can build shuffles and cross-rhythms. Holding to pick also means you land on the rate you want instead of cycling past it.

V1.1 - A big update for how Pond plays and feels. - Per-emitter rates, and drag to move them. Each emitter keeps its own drip rate now: tap an emitter to change its rate, drag it to reposition it (even several at once, one per finger), and a few at different rates weave into polyrhythms. Each emitter’s marker pulses in time with its own drip, so you can see the rhythm at a glance. - Undo and redo, in the drawer. Painting, Generate, Clear, Transpose, emitters, scales, it all steps back and forward. - Transpose the whole pond up or down, right by the scale picker. - Six more scales, fifteen in all: the full set of modes plus harmonic and melodic minor and the Japanese Hirajoshi. - Velocity for wave interference. Set the range with Base, Min and Max; the overlapping waves decide where each note lands. A movable paint bar. Drag it by the handle to the top or bottom so it never covers the cells you want. - As a plugin, Pond follows your host. In AUM, Logic or Cubasis it now starts and stops with the host transport, so the emitters sit in time with the rest of your session.
