Rebuilt soldiers, tanks that aim on the move, and online matches that pause for a quick call. - Every soldier is rebuilt from the boots up: Flank Troopers carry a real bazooka, and Skyjacks hover on jetpacks you can see. - The Titan and Stormcaller are rebuilt, the Skywarden carries a missile launcher, and EMBER tanks swing their turrets to aim. - Online matches now pause when a player steps away or loses signal, and one slow phone no longer makes everyone stutter. - Skirmish setup fits on one screen, and the AI picks its own army: you find out which when you meet it. - Harvesters now back straight onto the front of the refinery to unload. - Bug fixes and small improvements.

Your army got smarter, and your base is a lot more fun to watch go up. - Smarter movement: tanks and harvesters get through chokepoints, bridges and ore fields, and idle units step aside. - Construction cranes raise your base as you build. - FROST buildings are rebuilt in team colors, and show the damage they take. - A new, more detailed harvester that shows its ore load, and a new Glacier for FROST. - Units that earn a promotion now fire upgraded rounds. - Bug fixes and small improvements.

Battles have never looked or sounded this good. - Every combat sound is rebuilt from real recordings: rifles, tank guns, rockets, artillery and Frost's weapons, plus the hits, ricochets and deaths around them. - New explosions, fire, muzzle flashes, craters and scorch marks, all rendered in Blender. Old craters weather into the map, gathering snow, sand or ash. - Infantry raise their weapons, fire with a kick and crumple when killed. Ore fields are now glinting crystal beds that leave torn ground behind when mined out. - On newer iPhones and iPads, gusts glint across the water and palms and cycads sway in the wind. On the most powerful ones, ice floes drift too. - A new title screen, launch screen and Frost store art. - Bug fixes and small improvements.

A new battle every day, mission medals to earn, and a campaign that shows you the way. - TODAY'S FRONT: a new skirmish every day, with the same map and opponents for everyone. It joins the title screen once you have won Boot Camp. - Mission medals: a bonus star to earn on most missions, and a best time to beat where speed counts. - The title screen names your next mission, and Black Gold now teaches you to take and hold oil derricks. - At the end of a skirmish, a field report shows what you built, lost, destroyed and mined. Play the SAME MAP again, or after a win, step up to a harder AI. - In skirmish and online, oil derricks pay less, and tapping one tells you what it pays. - Bug fixes and small improvements. Online play is with other 2.0.1 players, so ask your friends to update too. If nobody else is searching, Quick Match offers you a practice game against the AI while you wait.

Coldfront 2.0: every battlefield rebuilt, and a new way to command. - Every map has a new look, from the Coldfront Classic snowfields to the lava of Magma Rift and the daylight streets of Gridlock. - A living battlefield on newer iPhones and iPads: ice floes and shore foam on the water, drifting cloud shadows, snow, drizzle, blowing sand or falling ash, and trees that sway in the wind. - A new command panel: build from a drawer you can tuck away to see more of the map. Selling a building now asks you to confirm. - Play any built-in map with fewer players than its maximum. - Smoother big battles and lower memory use. - Bug fixes and small improvements.

Ice Road is fairer, and you can change a skirmish's setup without going back to the main menu. - Ice Road: the attack from the north comes four minutes later, and the clock gives you four more. - Pause a skirmish and tap CHANGE SETUP to pick a different map, army or difficulty. - If Quick Match cannot seat you, the screen now says why. - Bug fixes and small improvements. Multiplayer holds steady on a shaky connection, and this is the version to be on for online play. Online matches now measure your connection and give themselves more room when it gets bumpy, instead of freezing both players every time a phone's WiFi hiccups. The message you see when the other player drops now says what actually happened. And a bug that could make two phones on the same WiFi disagree about the game and end the match is fixed. Because of that last fix, online play matches you with people on 1.0.3 or later, so update your friends too. Also in this update: • Guns sound like guns. Rifles and tank cannons had a drum-like thump; they crack now. • Tank treads roll as the tank moves. • Tapping a unit standing on a ridge selects it. It used to miss. • The objectives card tucks itself away after your first order, and you can tap it open any time. • The build panel wastes less space, and the defence cards no longer jump when power runs short. • The map editor's buttons were far too big on iPhone. The map is now most of the screen. • When a newer Coldfront is out, the game tells you and offers the update. Thank you for the reports. Keep them coming.

The campaign grows from five missions to fifteen. Act 1 is now ten missions, and all ten are free. Act 2 picks up right after Caldera, this time against Frost: five more missions, ending in a fight on two fronts at once. Mission 11 is free for everyone. Missions 12 to 15 are included with Frost, so if you already own it, you already have them. Also in this update: • Pause any campaign mission and tap BRIEFING to re-read your orders. • The tutorial now shows you the five slots under the radar and how to save a squad to one. • Hold the Pass starts with its defences powered. It didn't before, and the towers it gave you never fired. • Tanks, aircraft and buildings look damaged when they are damaged. • Units sit on the ground properly instead of casting a second shadow that looked like another soldier. • The power tip points at the power bar. It used to point at the edge of the screen. • The war factory's roof crane sits on the roof instead of floating above it. • Fixed the tutorial's waypoint marker hiding behind the objectives panel on iPhone. Multiplayer is unchanged and works between this version and the last one.

The launch screen is sharp on every launch, not just the first one after installing. Snow, ice and water read as themselves rather than as one blue-grey field, and the battlefield now keeps its history: scorch marks, craters and wrecks stay where the fight happened, tinted to the ground they sit on. Steam and exhaust look like vapour instead of a flat ring. The SCROLL FOR MORE hint on the skirmish setup screen retires once you have scrolled. Cancelling a building in the sidebar is a small corner badge instead of a large X across the icon, so you can still see what you are cancelling.
