Chorios is the family chore app that respects kids.
We built it for families who tried the other chore apps and felt
gross. The ones with infinite tap-to-earn loops. The ones where the
"reward" is a virtual hat. The ones that turned bedroom-tidying into
a slot machine.
Chorios is the opposite of that.
REAL CHORES, REAL GOALS
Kids do real-world tasks and earn points toward goals they actually
want — a Lego set, a sleepover, the Friday movie pick. Parents make
the reward real when the goal is hit. No leaderboard positions, no
junk currency. Built for the chore years: roughly ages 4–12.
GROWTH THAT CAN'T BE GAMED
Avatars evolve over time, not over taps. The decorative frame around
the avatar marks how long the kid has been on Chorios, not how many
chores they've farmed in a sprint. Kids can't shortcut their way to
a glow-up; they just have to keep showing up.
A WARDROBE, NOT AN ADDICTION
Each month, kids unlock 10 accessories at 10%, 20%, ... 100% of a
target their parent set. Hit the target, get the wardrobe; the
month ends, the wardrobe locks into "My Collection" and a fresh set
opens. No infinite scroll. No daily streak guilt-trip.
DESIGNED FOR FAMILIES, NOT JUST KIDS
- Households can be families, couples, students or partners.
- Parents pick which chores need approval and which auto-award.
- Multi-kid? Each kid sees only their stuff. Sibling rivalry stays
optional, not forced.
- Co-parents share one household and one set of decisions.
KID KIOSK MODE
Install Chorios on a shared family iPad or old phone, set it as the
kiosk, and the kids walk up and tap. No login per kid. No accounts
for children under 13. The parent unlocks admin with Face ID or a
PIN.
GOALS ARE THE ENGINE
One active goal per kid keeps it focused: pick the thing, watch the
bar fill, celebrate, pick the next thing. It's the patience muscle
and the "we finish what we start" habit in one mechanic. (A full
pocket-money system — Save / Spend / Give pots with a 50% Save
bonus — is rolling out next.)
WORKS OFFLINE
Bad wifi at gran's house? Kid still completes the chore. Writes
queue locally and sync when you're back. Zero "you're offline"
guilt-trips.
SIX LANGUAGES
Chorios speaks English, Nederlands, Deutsch, Français, Español and
Português. Locale follows the household, not the phone.
PRIVACY YOU CAN TRUST
- Children under 13 don't have standalone accounts.
- Optional photo check-ins are rolling out soon; when your family
uses them, photos stay private to your household and auto-delete
90 days after approval.
- Analytics are aggregated at the household level and never identify
an individual child.
- No ads. Ever. Not even on the free tier.
- Delete every piece of data we hold on your household with one
tap, any time, from Settings → Account.
DESIGNED WITHOUT DARK PATTERNS
No engagement engineering. No daily-streak guilt. No virtual hats
that cost virtual coins. No push notifications luring kids back to
the app. We chose against every addictive mechanic the rest of the
industry treats as standard — because the goal is the chore, not
the screen time. The core loop never costs anything; an optional
premium tier (coming soon) will add pocket-money goals, screen-time
goals, photo check-ins and multi-kiosk for families who want to go
deeper.
