This update makes it easier to work with a whole picture at once: - Resize now scales everything. Image > Resize changes the size of your drawings, shapes and text along with the picture, instead of only the paper behind them. One undo puts it all back. - Choose your file type when you save. Save and Save As now offer PNG, JPEG or a Paint Vlix document. New pictures start on PNG, and a picture you opened stays in its own format unless you change it. - Much faster rotate. Turning a large photo used to lock the app up for a few seconds. It is now almost instant, and a very large picture shows a progress spinner instead of freezing. - The rotate buttons stay in the toolbar. They no longer disappear the moment you click on something. - Fixed text with mixed sizes changing size incorrectly when a text box was scaled.

This update makes it easy to get your picture out of the app: - Copy to Clipboard. A new button at the top right of the toolbar copies your whole picture, ready to paste straight into Mail, Messages, a document or a web page. - Copy as a JPEG or PNG file. The same button can put a named image file on the clipboard instead, so pasting into Finder or an email gives you a real file. - Sharper copies. Copies now come out at full Retina resolution, so your drawings, text and pasted screenshots stay crisp wherever you paste them. - The color picker and eraser pointers now have a white outline, so you can still see them over black and other very dark pictures.

This update adds cropping and better handling of transparent images: - Crop to the marquee. Pick the Marquee tool, drag a box around what you want to keep, then press Command-K or click Crop. Your text, shapes and images stay editable objects afterwards. - New from the clipboard. Copy an image or take a screenshot, press Command-N, and the new document opens with that image already in it, sized to fit. - Transparent PNGs stay transparent. Opening or pasting a picture with a transparent background now shows a checkerboard instead of white paper, so the transparency survives when you save or export. - Growing the canvas extends the background you already have, whether that is transparent or a color you picked, instead of adding a white margin.

This update makes editing an existing picture feel natural: - Open a PNG or JPEG, make your edit, and press Save. It saves straight back over the original file in its original format, with no separate export step. - The first Save asks whether to keep the flat image format or save as an editable Paint Vlix document, then remembers your answer for that file so it never asks again. - Drag an image from Finder anywhere onto the drawing area to open it. It replaces the current drawing, and offers to save your changes first if you have unsaved work.

This update adds object adjustments, drag and drop, and canvas rotation: - Copy and paste now keeps your objects editable. Pasted text stays real text you can retype and restyle, and shapes stay shapes, instead of being flattened into a picture. - Drag an image straight from Finder onto the canvas. Drop a PNG, JPEG, or BMP to bring it in, or drop a Paint Vlix document to open it. - Rotate the whole canvas 90 degrees left or right using the new buttons next to the tools. Your objects rotate with the canvas and stay fully editable. - New More panel for the selected object: adjust opacity for any object, plus brightness and contrast for images, with a Reset button to put everything back. - Zoom shortcuts: Command-9 fits the canvas to the window and Command-0 returns to actual size. Both also re-center your drawing, and stay available whenever the canvas has drifted off-center.

This update focuses on shapes and zoom: - Resizing a rectangle or ellipse now keeps its border thickness constant instead of scaling it, so outlines stay crisp at any size. - Fixed Fit to Window so it works the moment the app launches. - The Fit button now grays out when the canvas already fits the window, and re-enables as soon as you resize the window. - The View menu's Actual Size and Fit to Window items enable and disable to match the current zoom. - Removed the unused Help menu to tidy up the menu bar.

Text tool improvements: - Style changes now apply to the whole text box when nothing is selected. - Drop shadows scale with the text size, so they look right on large text. - Letter spacing is now a percentage of the font size and works at any size. - New paragraph alignment control: left, center, right, and justify. - Undo now works while you are editing text.
