Versea actually looks at your picture first: Apple's on-device Vision framework reads the real things in the frame, then Apple's on-device language model writes fresh lines from what it found. WHY NOT JUST USE A CHATBOT?
Because you would have to describe the photo yourself, wait on a server, and hand your picture to someone else's cloud. PRIVACY
Nothing is uploaded. Ever. Photo analysis and poem writing both run on device, poems and images are stored only in the app's own folder on your iPhone, and there is no account, no sign-in, and no analytics. On devices without Apple Intelligence, Versea falls back to an offline written template so you still get a poem.
