Fixed the content and new-city notification channel configuration so the App Store version uses published content. Your Footprints, notes, share cards and existing records are preserved.

New in 1.4.0: a journal for the places you find. • Footprints has its own tab. Browse daily visits, pass-bys and drives, or look back through a shaded monthly calendar with your stickers. • Add a short note and wave stickers to a story. Find them again in the daily journal and story details. • Create a single share card or a tall card of the day's visits. Preview, save to Photos or share. Hide notes, show only the month and exclude places near home or work. • Illustrations blend into the page and waves have smoother curves. Swipe through a day's visited-place illustrations. Clearer labels explain how visits, pass-bys and drives are grouped and what goes on a share card. • Five bottom tabs keep Settings within reach. A three-page animated tour introduces Footprints, notes and sharing. Skip or replay it, reopen it in Settings, or view a still version with Reduce Motion enabled. • Optional new-city notifications are off by default and independent of pass-by reminders. No extra sign-in is needed. • City selection and the city directory show loading and retry states. Other loaded content stays usable while more cities load. • Fixed some launch crashes, failed image saves, missing stickers in exported cards, overlapping text and incorrect notification subscription states.

Requires iOS 16.4 or later. • Home and lock screen widgets show stories from places you passed today. With no visits recorded that day, the widget shows a story from your current or selected city. • Spotlight search finds stories you saved, visited, set a reminder for, or recently read. Tap a result to open the story. • Quiet for today pauses reminders for the rest of the day. Use Settings or press and hold a City Whisper notification. Visits still go into your diary. Reminders resume at midnight or when you turn them back on; paused reminders are not sent later. • Adjusted startup, map loading and list scrolling. Fixed some launch crashes, blank maps after switching cities, and temporarily unresponsive settings. • Fixed some missing background visit records, reminders sent during a pause, and delayed widget updates.

City Whisper 1.2.0 makes it easier to carry a city story into a conversation. • Faraway Voices brings you an occasional story from another city. Read it and it slips away, with no route, task, or collection to complete. • Story links open the same story in the app. Friends without the app can read a short web preview first. • Story pages now include clearer access notes and better handoff to Apple Maps or Google Maps. • Echoes rotates large themes across cities and stories, making long collections easier to browse. • Leaner image and notification work improves caching, offline reading, and notification routing. Precise location, coarse driving detection, and personal records still stay on your device. Location remains optional for reading, saving, and sharing.

City Whisper 1.1.0 makes hearing a story as you pass a street corner more complete. • Passing reminders: After you choose to enable location and notifications, select Instant, Later Summary, or Quiet. A notification can open the matching story as you pass nearby. • More city content: Explore 1,427 place-based stories across 12 cities, with source links and tappable term notes. The interface and content support Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese (Taiwan/Hong Kong), and English (US/UK). • City Journals: Follow curated collections that connect places and stories within each city. • Echoes: Discover recurring themes and urban patterns across cities. • Private diary: Passing only means nearby. A story enters your diary only after you tap “I’m Here” at the place and pass the distance check. • Content updates: New and revised stories can arrive directly, while cached stories and illustrations remain available offline. • Clearer settings and guide: Updated explanations for reminder modes, frequency, permissions, driving detection, background use, content updates, and privacy. • Reliability improvements: Refined launch behavior, location fallback, notification routing, content updates, and English layouts. Our privacy approach is unchanged: precise location, coarse driving detection, and personal records are processed on your device. The server only delivers content and illustrations. There are no accounts or ads, and your location is not shared with third parties. You can still choose cities, search, read, save, and share without enabling location.
