If it has been a while since you opened Synaxis: Wednesday and Friday fasting was corrected in the previous update. Calendar corrections, with thanks to the readers who wrote in. A modern saint's feast usually falls on one civil date that both the New and Old Calendars keep. Synaxis was shifting some of them by thirteen days. Now corrected: • St Herman of Alaska, glorification — August 9 • St Alexis Toth — May 7 • St Sophrony of Essex — July 11 • St Porphyrios of Kavsokalyvia — December 2 • St Silouan the Athonite — September 24 • St John Maximovitch of Shanghai — July 2 St Herman's repose is not one of these. It keeps the usual thirteen-day difference (December 13 New Calendar, December 26 Old) and was already correct. Newly added: St Cornelius the Centurion and St Ketevan of Georgia on September 13, and the Holy Apostle Matthias on August 9.
