Word Shout: Learn to Read

Letters to sentences, out loud

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

From single letters to full sentences — kids read out loud, pop stars, and collect prizes. A talking reading game that grows right along with your child. Word Shout turns learning to read into a game kids actually want to play. It starts with single letters, builds to blends and simple words, then grows into full sentences — so the same app that teaches your child their letters is still challenging them when they're reading on their own. Show your child what's on screen, tap the big microphone, and let them say it out loud. When they get it right, stars burst across the screen to pop and collect — and every star brings them closer to unlocking a new prize. GROWS WITH YOUR CHILD - Starts with letters — perfect for brand-new readers - Builds to blends and sounds (SH, CH, TH, and more) - Moves on to simple words, then short phrases - Finishes with full, grammatically correct sentences - Thousands of sentence combinations, so it never runs out WHY KIDS LOVE IT - Say it out loud and watch a celebration explode - Pop falling stars in a fun mini-game after every win - Collect dozens of prizes, from a puppy to a whole galaxy - Picture clues help new readers along, just like a picture book - Friendly encouragement, never a harsh "wrong" WHY GROWN-UPS LOVE IT - Real reading practice disguised as play - Meets your child where they are and grows with them - Gentle help: after a few tries, the app reads it aloud - Settings to skip the mini-game, hide picture clues, and more - No ads. No data collection. No surprises. HOW IT WORKS Word Shout listens with your device's microphone and checks pronunciation right on the device. It begins with letters — A, B, C — then blends like SHIP and FROG, then words, and finally colorful sentences as your child grows more confident. Picture clues give visual hints along the way, just like a picture book. Every correct answer earns stars. Stars unlock prizes. Prizes keep kids coming back — turning reading itself into the path to something they want. DESIGNED WITH PRIVACY IN MIND Word Shout collects nothing. No accounts, no ads, no tracking, no data leaving the device — ever. Spoken audio is used only to check the answer and is never recorded or saved. It's a safe, quiet space for a child to learn. MADE FOR LITTLE LEARNERS - Big, friendly buttons made for small hands - Encouraging voice and playful sounds - Designed for ages 5-8 and emerging readers - A reward system that celebrates effort, not just perfection Tap the mic. Say it out loud. Collect the prize. Happy reading!
