A call that sounds like your kid, asking for money. Halo texts a safety word to their real number. If the person on the line can't read it back, it isn't them. "It sounds like them" is no longer proof. Three seconds of audio is enough to clone a voice, and imposter scams are the most-reported fraud in America. Halo gives you a ten-second way to find out who is really on the line. WHEN A CALL FEELS OFF, HALO THEM Open Halo, glance at Face ID, and text a safety word to the number you already trust. If it's really them, the text lands on their phone, they read the two words back, and it matches your screen. If it's a scammer spoofing their caller ID, the text goes to the real person instead. The caller can't say the word. You hang up. HOW IT WORKS • Halo notices you're on a live call • Face ID confirms it's you asking, and signs the check with a key that never leaves your iPhone • You text the link from your own Messages, to their real number • Their screen and yours show the same two-word safety word. They read it back to you • If they have Halo too, their Face ID lights up on your screen THE PERSON YOU'RE CHECKING NEEDS NOTHING No app, no account, no setup on their end. Any phone that can receive a text and open a link can pass the check. BUILT FOR THE PEOPLE SCAMMERS CALL • Parents and grandparents who get the "I'm in trouble, send money" call • Anyone whose job involves a voice asking to move money: finance teams, assistants, advisors, IT support • Families who want one simple rule: "Halo me first" PRIVACY IS THE ARCHITECTURE • No call records, ever. Halo never knows who you called or for how long • No contacts permission. The text goes from your own Messages, so the other person's number never touches our servers • No send history, anywhere • The backend stores only your name, your public key, and a hash of your number. Delete it any time REAL CRYPTOGRAPHY UNDERNEATH Every check is a fresh, short-lived signature from a key locked inside your iPhone's security chip, unlockable only with Face ID. The safety word is derived from that signature, so a fake link can never show the right words. Stale, tampered, or forged links show a warning instead. Halo now reads the way it works: make sure it's really them. New "see it work first" step sends a test check to your own phone before you subscribe, plus clearer copy throughout. The check itself is unchanged: Face ID, one text, a safety word they read back.
