WHAT EACH KIND OF FILE DOES • MusicXML, MXL and MIDI open as notation that follows your playing exactly. • PDFs and photographs open as a clean reader you page through yourself. Convert one and it follows you too. IT MOVES WHEN YOU PLAY The microphone hears an acoustic piano — chords included — and a digital piano connects over USB or Bluetooth MIDI. Either way Sonira knows where you are in the score and keeps the music ahead of your hands. One fluffed note will not derail it. MOVING, YOUR WAY • Auto scroll glides the music past you. • Auto flip page turns a whole page at a time, if you read better with the page holding still. • Manual flip page leaves it to you. SETLISTS Build a programme for a concert, a rehearsal or a lesson. Reorder it, then walk straight from the end of one piece into the next without going back to the library. A PRACTICE MODE WHEN YOU WANT ONE Study mode holds the page until you have played the notes correctly, so you cannot rehearse a mistake into your fingers. Run it with the left hand, the right hand, or both. INCLUDED, FREE 17 public-domain solo-piano editions — Für Elise, Clair de Lune, Gymnopédie No. 1, The Entertainer, Bach's Prelude in C, Chopin's Prelude in E minor and more — plus original technique exercises: five-finger warmups, scales, contrary motion, arpeggios, Hanon-style patterns, chord inversions and finger independence. ALSO INSIDE Metronome. Score playback, so you can hear a passage before you attempt it. Progress through the piece, and a moment of recognition when you reach the end. CONVERTING PRINTED MUSIC — BETA Sonira can read a PDF or a photograph of printed music and rebuild it as notation the app can follow. Automatic reading is not perfect: it can misread or omit notes, rhythms, fingerings, dynamics, text and layout, so always compare the result with your original. This feature is in beta and improving. MusicXML and MIDI imports are exact and never use a conversion credit. Designed for iPad. The microphone is used only to hear your playing; audio is never recorded or sent anywhere.
