HOW IT WORKS
Listen to a real field recording, then pick the right bird from four options. Get it right and the card gets easier. Get it wrong and it comes back sooner. Over time, the 28 species in the app become as familiar as old friends.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
Tūī. Bellbird. Kōkako. Kea. Kākāpō. Grey warbler. Morepork. All 28 NZ native birds, including the rarer ones most people couldn't name. Learn to hear the difference between the cascading notes of a tūī and the liquid bells of a korimako.

Bird lore corner: the app's name comes from a whakataukī (Māori proverb)
"E koekoe te tūī, e ketekete te kākā, e kūkū te kererū": the tūī chatters,
the kākā cackles, the kererū coos. It's a saying about how every voice is
different, and that's a strength, not a flaw, which is more or less what
this whole app is asking you to learn to hear.
