Screenshot Ledger organizes matching files in a folder you choose on your Mac. It reads visible text locally with OCR, creates clearer file names, and keeps a searchable history so you can find captures later without opening them one by one.
With version 1.1, you can search file names, summaries, tags, and full OCR text directly in the app. Suggested names can be reviewed, edited, and applied when you are ready.

SAFER FILE NAMING
When OCR produces only a generic or low-confidence result, Screenshot Ledger leaves the original file unchanged and saves a suggestion for review.
LOCAL PROCESSING
OCR, naming, search, history, and index creation are performed locally on your Mac. Screenshots, recordings, OCR text, and file names are not uploaded to an external server or AI service.
HOW IT WORKS
Choose the folder that contains your screenshots and screen recordings.
Select whether to organize only new files or include existing files.
Keep automatic renaming enabled, or review suggested names before applying them.
Search your local ledger or open the generated Markdown index.
Screenshot Ledger does not take screenshots or record your screen. It only works with supported files inside folders you explicitly select.
