Pick a mood, follow the needle and let the city surprise you. Michi keeps the place a secret until you arrive. Your first three journeys are free.
Put the map away. Michi turns your phone into a calm compass that leads you to a place nearby you haven't discovered yet — and keeps it a secret until you arrive.
In Japanese, Michi (道) means "the way". The whole app is built around one idea: sometimes the walk is worth more than the destination. No turn-by-turn directions, no blue line to stare at, no spoilers. Just a direction, a number that keeps shrinking, and the streets around you.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Choose a mood: Cafes & Restaurants, Parks & Nature, Culture & Museums — or let chance decide.
2. Follow the needle. Michi shows only the direction and the distance, so your eyes stay on the city instead of a screen.
3. Arrive and reveal. When you're close, the name of the place appears. That's the only way to find out where you were going.
A WALK THAT FEELS DIFFERENT
• A warm glow grows as you get closer, and gentle pulses quicken in the final meters.
• A soft tick when you're facing the right way, a subtle buzz when you arrive.
• Too curious to wait? You can reveal the place early — but the mystery goes with it.
MORE THAN A COMPASS
• Your journeys, remembered — every walk is kept: the places you found and the mysteries you let go.
• Share a mystery — send a hidden place to a friend as a link. They get the same sealed envelope: nothing is revealed until they're close.
• Somewhere new every time — Michi won't send you back to a place you've already discovered.
• Phone in your pocket — with the optional Live Activity, the distance and direction stay on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island while you use other apps.
• Make it yours — three compass styles (Retro 70s, Michi hi-fi, Candy pastels), light and dark themes, metric or imperial units.
• Walk as far as you like — from a short 250 m stroll to a long wander, or set your own radius.
• Built-in calibration keeps the needle accurate.

Michi has a new icon — a needle finding the light. Your first three journeys are now free, with one early reveal on the house. A monthly plan joins the lineup, and the distance readout no longer jitters. Plus small fixes and polish.
