MohsVault is an offline field companion for rockhounds, students, and curious collectors. Browse a built-in catalog of 200+ minerals, identify your finds with a guided test, and build a personal collection — all on your device, with no account and no internet required. Stone of the day Open the App to a fresh featured mineral each day, with its color, Mohs hardness, and estimated value at a glance. Your collection stats and upcoming trips sit right below. Library Everything in one place across four tabs: a searchable, filterable mineral catalog; your active collection of finds grouped by category; archived trips; and a trip planner. Filter by color and rarity to narrow the catalog down fast. Guided identifier Not sure what you picked up? Answer two field-testable questions — approximate Mohs hardness (with real scratch-test references) and dominant color — and get a ranked list of likely matches with a confidence score. Mineral detail Each stone opens to an immersive page keyed to its color, with a visual Mohs hardness scale, key properties, and a step-by-step identification timeline. Trips Plan collecting trips on a calendar, attach minerals, and get a local reminder before each outing. Yours, and private Add your own custom minerals, jot notes, and estimate value. Everything is stored locally on your device — nothing is uploaded, and you can erase it all anytime.
