Fast, no account. Local weather, wind at altitude, airspace, Kp and daylight, scored for your drone into one clear verdict: Good to Fly, Caution, or No.
Know before you fly. DroneFly is a fast, plain-English safe-to-fly checker for UK drone pilots. It pulls live local data and turns it into one clear verdict: Good to Fly, Fly with Caution, or Not Safe.
What it checks:
- Wind and gusts at the altitude you choose (50, 120, 250 or 400ft), not just ground level
- Rain and precipitation probability
- Visibility for keeping visual line of sight
- Cloud cover and estimated cloud ceiling
- Kp index and GPS satellites overhead, so you know when your fix may be weak
- Daylight and golden hour
- Temperature and its effect on battery
- Nearby air traffic and controlled airspace
Three tabs:
- Conditions: the verdict, today's fly window, and every reading as a card you can show or hide.
- Forecast: wind and gust charts, a temperature and dew-point chart, a 14-day outlook and an hour-by-hour view.
- Map: controlled airspace and no-fly zones drawn around you, with a height filter so you only see what reaches your altitude, plus nearby aerodromes and your visual-line-of-sight range.
Made for real pilots:
- Tuned to your drone, with DJI Mini, Neo and Mavic built in. Add your own with its weight and wind rating and it works out your UK category and what you can fly over, or just set your own wind and gust limits.
- Wind compass. Hold up your phone and an arrow points to where the wind is coming from.
- Your call, your overrides. The verdict is conservative by default; if you have accounted for a warning you can turn it off and it recalculates, remembered per drone.
- Fly alerts when conditions clear, a heads-up when they turn bad, and a morning summary of the best window.
DroneFly is free, with no account and no ads. It is a planning aid, not a clearance. Always confirm airspace and restrictions before you fly and follow the UK CAA rules for your category. You need a Flyer ID and Operator ID from the CAA to fly most drones in the UK.
