Version 1.4 adds explainable lighting and sharpness guidance to the U.S. visa JPEG workflow. When exactly one face is detected, the app looks for severe underexposure, washed-out highlights, and possible blur or softness in that sampled face area, then explains how to improve the capture. Otherwise, subject-quality rows remain cautions instead of showing a pass. These checks run locally and are warning-only: they do not alter the photo, make an acceptance decision, or replace manual review of current official instructions. The existing one-face, position, scale, background, final-byte, format, color, and file-size checks remain available. U.S. and Canadian online-renewal original workflows still preserve and verify exact imported bytes; the Canada commercial-photographer checker, U.S. 2x2 print sheet, and visible SHA-256 proof remain unchanged.

Version 1.3 adds a Canada online-renewal photographer original checker backed by current Canada.ca rules. Import the commercial photographer's direct original JPEG with Files and check its JPEG signature, complete single-image structure, EXIF display orientation, 200 KB–5 MB byte size, portrait 2:3 orientation, and 1200 × 1800 through 3000 × 4500 pixel range. Camera, Photos-library import, and all editing are disabled. Four required confirmations cover the in-person commercial photographer, six-month recency, direct camera file, and photographer details. Save or share the exact imported bytes with a visible SHA-256 fingerprint and byte-identity verification. Face geometry remains manual guidance, not an automated pass. Official photo-rule and eligibility links are included, along with clear independent-checker and no-acceptance-guarantee disclosures. The U.S. online-original, U.S. visa JPEG, and 2x2 print workflows remain available.

Version 1.1 clearly separates U.S. visa digital exports from passport print sheets. Visa JPEGs are now validated as 600 or 1200 px square, 24-bit sRGB, and 240 KB or less using the final encoded bytes. Print sheets now include explicit 300-DPI metadata and 100%-print guidance. We also removed the misleading background selector: your original background is preserved and never replaced. Imports are downsampled for smoother editing, saving now requests Photos add-only access explicitly, and success appears only after the save completes. Technical and composition guidance cannot guarantee agency acceptance. For U.S. online passport renewal, use the original photo in the official State Department upload flow.
