Dictation runs entirely on your iPhone using Apple's built-in on-device speech recognition. No external APIs, no accounts, and no servers of ours are involved. Your audio is never recorded or stored, and it never leaves your device. The transcribed text stays on your device. In that case the audio is processed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy, and DICTA clearly shows an "Apple Cloud" badge so you always know which mode is active.
