WHO IT IS FOR
Working scientists and clinicians in oncology, immunology and biotech, chronic disease and metabolic health, gastroenterology, neurology, and general medicine. Pharma and biotech professionals are welcome. More specialties added as the user base grows.
WHAT KANA DOES
Tiered credential verification Identity and expertise are checked separately, in tiers. The ladder runs from Neutron (private email) to Neon (a fully completed credentials profile), with Hydrogen, Helium, and Carbon in between. Other readers can tell what was verified, and how.
AI summaries with citations Papers and posts are compressed into key findings, limitations, context, and references. Every summary links back to the source. The summary is a doorway to the work, not a replacement for it.
A persistent professional profile Your verified credentials, posts, discussion history, and contributions accumulate in one place. Over time the profile reads as a professional record, not a feed.
Verified-only feed toggle One switch on every feed. On: only verified posts. Off: open feed. The default is yours to set.
Topic communities by specialty Follow the field, not the algorithm. Communities for oncology, immunology, gastroenterology and chronic disease, neurology, general medicine, and more as users arrive.
Expertise-weighted ranking Verified experts and evidence-backed posts are surfaced more. Popularity is not the ranking signal.

Verify (optional). Climb the ladder by linking institutional email, ORCID, Doc Check, or completing your credentials profile.
Build your record. Post, comment, summarize. Your verified contributions accumulate into a profile other scientists can read at a glance.
WHY KANA EXISTS
Scientific communication infrastructure has not kept up with how scientists actually work. Journals are slow, congresses are expensive, and the platforms where the conversation already happens were not built for credentialed work. Kana adds the layer that was missing: verified identity, AI summaries with citations, and a record that lives in one place.
