Wake: Rowing & Erg Tracker
Splits, stroke rate & rhythm
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
Every stroke, remembered — live splits on the water, connected erg pieces indoors, and a report card after every row. Free, private, and no account needed to start.
Wake is a rowing tracker built by a rower — GPS splits on the water, connected erg capture indoors, and an honest report card after every outing.
No account needed. Open the app, tap Start, and row.
ON THE WATER
• Live split (/500m) and stroke rate side by side, in numbers you can read mid-stroke
• The screen stays awake for the whole row — no fumbling with a locked phone
• Double-tap to stop, so a splashy swipe can't end your piece
• Your full route recorded second by second
AFTER THE ROW
• A report card for every outing: route map, pace, stroke rate, and rhythm across the whole row
• Pieces detected automatically — splits for each effort, not just the total
• Scrub anywhere in the row and watch your boat move along the map
• Every outing kept in your training library — rename, revisit, compare
ON THE ERG
• Connects to your rowing machine's monitor over Bluetooth
• Live watts, split, stroke rate, heart rate, and drag factor
• Per-stroke drive length and stroke distance
• Force curves: see the shape of every drive, and whether it holds up when the rate goes up
• Works with the Concept2 PM5 and Bluetooth (FTMS) rowing machines
APPLE WATCH + HEALTH
• Wear your Watch as a heart-rate sensor, and start or stop the row from your wrist
• Workouts save to Apple Health
CREWS AND COACHES
• Share any report with your coach or crew as a single link
• Rowed with a crewmate's phone in the boat? Claim the outing onto your own account
• Coaches: watch every boat in your practice live on one map (Wake Coach, for programs)
PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
• Your rows are yours — nothing is shared unless you share it
• Sign in with Apple, Google, or email only when you want your training backed up across devices
Whether you scull at dawn, pull 2ks in a basement, or coach a program of eights — Wake keeps every stroke.

Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
Your Apple Watch and iPhone now keep one clock. The time on your wrist matches your phone and the erg monitor second for second: on the erg it starts at your first stroke, stops when the monitor stops, and keeps adding up across intervals.
Heart rate from your Apple Watch is on by default. Allow it once and Wake opens your Watch when you start a row, and a small heart shows your heart rate on the phone as you row. Press Start on your wrist and the row begins with the team and plan you picked on your phone. On the erg, your Watch connects to your usual erg by itself, and during a race it shows the race clock.
Coaches now see your heart rate only on teams where you share it. A heart next to your team shows which: filled means shared, a heart with a line through it means private. Settings > Teams has one card per team, each with its own heart rate switch.
Links you share to a row no longer show your heart rate. New links can be turned off at any time from the Share menu.
Your Watch follows the plan. It taps your wrist when a piece ends and when the next begins, and counts you down 3, 2, 1 before the rest is over. During a rest the countdown is the main number, with your heart rate beside it so you can watch your recovery.
The erg screen announces every piece: it fills with REST when a piece ends and ROW when the next begins. The on-target cue, your target split and rate, and the plan progress are all bigger and easier to read from the seat.
Every row you stop now comes ashore. If your phone locked or Wake went to the background just after you tapped Stop, an outing could finish on the server and never reach your library. Wake now writes down the close before sending it, and keeps trying until the server confirms.
Share and ⋯ each have one job. Share is where a row goes: the report link, your crew or squad, your Concept2 Logbook, or a FIT file for Strava, Garmin and TrainingPeaks. ⋯ is the row itself: Trim, Rename, Boat type and Delete.
Sending an erg piece to your Concept2 Logbook now shows you the entry first, exactly as Concept2 will file it, and sends it at once. Concept2 keeps the first version it receives, so you can trim before you send. Once it's in, the row opens your result in the Logbook.
Settings now shows a connected Concept2 Logbook as connected, not Off.
Settings > Apple Watch now says whether your heart rate is recording and walks you through the setup. Settings > Apple Health shows what Wake saves, what Apple Health allows, and your last saved row.
Fixed: the Apple Health switch no longer shows On while Apple Health is refusing your rows, and a row now reaches Apple Health even when its route, distance or energy is refused.
If your team's program gives you Wake Pro, it now unlocks the moment you sign in.
If this phone's sign-in is no longer recognised, Row, Training and Settings say so and show you how to get back to your rows, instead of an empty library.
