Birdo Golf

Your AI Golf Caddie, on-course

$5.99

GPS yardages, an on-device AI Caddie, and real scoring on your iPhone and Apple Watch. No subscriptions, no ads, and your rounds are backed up to your own iCloud. Birdo is the golf companion that thinks like a caddie. Pull up any hole, and Birdo uses your exact GPS position to tell you the real distance to the green — then factors in wind, elevation, and your lie to recommend the right club from your own bag, learned from how far you actually hit each one. Play smarter, every hole - Live GPS distance to the front, center, and back of the green - On-device AI Caddie gives a club recommendation with the reasoning behind it — wind, elevation, and lie all factored into the "plays-like" distance - Works without a network connection once a course is loaded — no signal needed mid-round - Live Activity on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island: hole, yardage, and score, with buttons to score without unlocking - Log actual shot results (by GPS or by hand) and Birdo refines your club distances, so recommendations get more personal the more you play Score the way you want - Full digital scorecard with stroke play, net, and Stableford formats - Automatic handicap tracking from your round history - Play and score with your group in real time: share a join code, and everyone's scores sync live to one shared scorecard and leaderboard - Hosts can adjust par and stroke index on the fly if a course's info needs a tweak - Played from a GPS cart? Import its scorecard from the email — share or paste it in, review, and save Built for the course - Course data pulled from OpenStreetMap, covering courses worldwide for free — no per-course unlock fees - Apple Watch companion runs its own GPS and club recommendations, so your phone can stay in the bag: live distances, score entry, and hole navigation from your wrist, with your AI pick pushed over when your phone's nearby - A wrist tap when you reach the green, and again when Birdo moves you to the next tee - Local weather pulled in automatically to inform the AI Caddie's recommendations - Made for iPhone Duo: open it and the hole map sits beside your yardages and scoring, with both nines side by side Never lose a round - Rounds, shots, club distances, and settings back up to your own iCloud, so a new iPhone or reinstall brings it all back Privacy first Birdo's AI Caddie runs entirely on-device using Apple's on-device Foundation Models — your shots, your scores, and your position are never sent anywhere for the AI to work. Finding courses and fetching wind do send the course's coordinates (never your identity, your scores, or an account) to OpenStreetMap and Apple Weather. Your backup lives in your own iCloud, where only you can read it. Group rounds sync through Apple's CloudKit, linked by a short join code. No ads, no in-app purchases, no third-party analytics. --- How it works Club recommendations. Birdo's AI Caddie starts from typical carry distances per club and personalizes them as you log shots, so recommendations gradually reflect how far you actually hit each club rather than a generic average. The distance it recommends against accounts for wind, elevation, and your lie, so a shot from the rough or into the wind gets clubbed accordingly. Scoring formats. Birdo supports stroke play, net, and Stableford, following standard handicap rules for stroke allocation and Stableford points. Group leaderboards rank fairly even when players are at different points in their round, with a "Thru N" indicator showing how far along each player is. Handicap tracking. Birdo estimates a personal handicap index from your recent round history, inspired by the principles of the World Handicap System (e.g., favoring your better recent rounds and not letting a single bad hole disproportionately skew your number). Because Birdo doesn't have access to official course rating and slope data, this is an estimate of your scoring trend, not an official WHS Handicap Index or a substitute for a club-issued handicap. Group play. Group rounds sync in real time over iCloud using a shared join code — everyone sees the same scorecard and leaderboard as scores are entered.

Your round on the Lock Screen. Birdo now shows your round as a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island: the current hole, par, distance to the center of the green, and your score to par. Adjust this hole's score or move to the next hole right from the Lock Screen, without unlocking your phone. Never lose a round. Birdo now backs up your rounds, shots, club distances, and settings to your own iCloud account, automatically. Reinstall Birdo or set up a new iPhone and your history is waiting for you. Only you can read the backup, and none of it is stored on Birdo's servers. Use more than one device and they stay in step. You need to be signed in to iCloud; without it, Birdo works exactly as before. Settings > iCloud Backup shows when you last synced, and Delete All My Data there erases your rounds, shots, and settings from your iPhone and your iCloud backup, including on your other devices. A fresh new look. Birdo is redesigned for iOS 26 with Liquid Glass. The tab bar, toolbars, and sheets now use the new glass design, and the tab bar tucks away as you scroll so your yardages get more of the screen. The app icon is rebuilt in Liquid Glass too, with dark, clear, and tinted looks for your Home Screen and a matching icon on Apple Watch. Made for iPhone Duo. Open your iPhone Duo and Birdo uses the whole display: the hole map fills one side while your yardages, the AI Caddie, and scoring sit beside it, and your scorecard shows the front nine and the back nine side by side, the way a paper card does. Folded, it's the Birdo you already know. Turn your phone. Birdo now works in landscape, not only portrait. Give it a wide enough screen — any iPhone on its side, or a Duo — and the Play tab and the scorecard move to two columns on their own. A smarter AI Caddie. The AI Caddie now chooses only between clubs close to your distance, and its explanation always agrees with your lie, so it no longer suggests a club that's a whole club too long. Better shot tracking. Log Shot now compares your carry with the club Birdo recommended and uses the lie you marked, and the lie is re-detected on every new hole. Birdo also waits until you're nearer the next tee than the green you just played before moving on, so a tee beside the green no longer advances you mid-putt. Easier to read. The full course name now shows on the Play screen instead of being cut off. Scores to par use one consistent set of colors. The hole map shows a single yardage label when it's zoomed out too far for three. More in Settings. Settings is now organized into sections: Player & Units, My Bag, Club Distances, Shot Stats, iCloud Backup, and Help & About. Support & Legal adds the Help Center, Contact Support with your app and device details filled in, the Privacy Policy, Terms of Use, and Accessibility. Fixes. The hole map now frames the hole itself, instead of zooming out far enough to take in a GPS position a long way from it. The inline hole map now re-centers on each new hole instead of staying on the previous one. Leaving a group round now stops any pending par or stroke index changes from syncing afterward, and a host's edits are no longer lost when group updates arrive at the same time. Courses saved by older versions are recognized again, so they work offline without downloading twice.
