From news to your own files

A reader hands you articles. fornews turns them into files that fill themselves, written reports, and a corpus you can question. All on your device.
A reader hands you articles. fornews.ai makes something else of them.
The app doesn't just read headlines: it reads WHO and WHAT. People, organisations and places are
pulled from every article and identified against Wikidata. A name that keeps coming back then
becomes a FILE: a subject you name, which fills itself, and which also takes your links, your
documents and your notes. That file produces a written, illustrated REPORT, readable in another
app. And you can QUESTION your own corpus — on the device, or from an external assistant.
Everything is processed ON YOUR DEVICE with Apple Intelligence — no article and no personal data
ever leaves it. No account, no subscription, no quota.
• YOUR STORIES: name a subject; a rule of entities and keywords lets new articles in. Add links,
documents and notes; an iCloud folder per story, visible in Files and the Finder. A monthly
calendar shows the subject's rhythm.
• A REPORT TO TAKE AWAY: the story becomes an illustrated Markdown document in your iCloud folder.
• CORRECT AN ENTITY: the fix applies to articles already read as well as the next ones, and undoes.
• Add RSS/Atom feeds or any web page; build AND/OR/EXCEPT keyword rules (with AI prefill).
• On-device summaries, named-entity detection & enrichment, automatic translation.
• Ask questions about any article — a free-form chat answered ON YOUR DEVICE.
• Daily AI editorial. Immersive full-screen reading (Ken Burns effect in landscape).
• Media-player style widgets (featured + latest) on iPhone, iPad AND Mac — tap to open the article.
• Rename entities from Wikidata; export an entity's or keyword's articles to JSON via the share sheet.
• MUSIC FROM THE NEWS: Apple Intelligence spots the artists, albums and soundtracks tied to today's
headlines and finds them in Apple Music — a genuinely fun way to discover and play music as you read,
plus a daily mood. Computed once on iPhone/Mac, shared via iCloud to every screen, even Apple TV.
• Search and play any Apple Music album from Settings.
• iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV — an immersive slideshow (with a kiosk mode for waiting rooms).
• Mac mini as Data Provider + iPhone in "iCloud Only" mode: full processing on Mac, pure reading on mobile.
• BUILD A CORPUS: your sources and keywords grow a solid, kept-on-device archive (articles aren't
deleted after reading). A local MCP server (Mac) plus JSON/CSV export let researchers, journalists,
students and news enthusiasts analyze, synthesize and produce full reports (trends, shifts) — e.g. with Claude.
• Adaptive per-source polling (15 min to 4 h based on activity).
• Synced via your private iCloud. No data collection, no account, no tracking.
Requires Apple Intelligence. Free for 7 days, then a one-time purchase; the Apple TV app is
included with the iPhone or Mac purchase.

Version 1.6 — your news becomes a file.
• YOUR STORIES. Name a subject you follow; it fills itself (a rule of entities and keywords) and gathers far more than articles: your links, your documents, your notes, and an iCloud folder visible in Files and the Finder. A monthly calendar shows the subject's rhythm — the days it is discussed, and the days it goes quiet.
• FOLLOW, SPLIT, FIND AGAIN. Follow a story and you are told when an article joins it. A subject that started covering two things splits into two files. And in the list, articles from one file fold under a single card — “this subject moved, here is by how much” — so the rest of the day stays visible.
• A REPORT TO TAKE AWAY. In one move, the story becomes a written, illustrated document, grouped by theme, saved to your iCloud folder and readable in another app.
• THE MUSIC OF A SUBJECT. Artists, albums and soundtracks mentioned in a file, matched in Apple Music and playable from the story itself.
• CORRECT AN ENTITY. A misidentified person, two records for one name, a wrong type: you fix it, and the fix applies to articles already read as well as to the next ones. Always undoable.
• PERSONAL NOTES. On an article, an entity or a story — with formatting, preview and diagrams. It is the one part of the corpus the app will never write for you, and nothing deletes it.
• REGENERATE. A poor summary, a page badly fetched: rerun the processing for one article, one source or a period. The work is done by the device that feeds the corpus — often your Mac.
• DISMISS AN ARTICLE. It leaves the corpus and does not come back, even if its source republishes it. Reversible.
• SOURCE HEALTH. A screen tells you which sources answer, which have gone silent and which changed address — a “mute” source answers normally but no longer publishes.
• WHAT THE APP DID. An activity screen, day by day, tells you what was fetched, summarised, translated or cleaned up — and by which device. Recent errors come first, not buried.
• AN INTERFACE THAT EXPLAINS ITSELF. Every setting and every action now carries its explanation, permanently, right next to it: what it does, what it costs, and whether it can be undone.
• IN YOUR LANGUAGE, FROM THE VERY FIRST LAUNCH. The app now follows your device's language without being asked: summaries, translations and interface arrive in French, English, Spanish, German or Italian. And if you would rather read the news in a language other than your iPhone's, that choice is one tap away in the settings.
