Your microphone can no longer be silently lost. If another app takes it mid-recording, Fictate™ buzzes and tells you plainly, then reclaims the microphone and continues the same recording the moment it can — even from the lock screen. Every recording now shows a live card on your lock screen, so you can always see Fictate™ is capturing, no matter what else your phone is doing. New in Account & Settings: keep your screen awake while recording, and a 25-minute session timer for Pomodoro writers. Spoken punctuation fixes: "comma, end quote" always lands correctly, including before flipped speech tags like "said Connor."

Your microphone stays on. The recording layer is designed fresh: phone calls, earbuds coming and going, a locked screen in your pocket, and your words keep going into the same recording. If the app is ever closed mid-take, your recording is rescued the next time you open it. "Delete that" is now optional under Account & Settings, for when the phrase belongs in your dialogue. The rough preview reconnects on its own after an interruption, editing lands the cursor where you tap, and "Show changes" is now "Show Fictate changes."

Every plan now includes every feature: the Cleanup Tool, Story Outlines, and Deleted Recordings are on all tiers, with plans differing only by monthly hours. Your free trial's hours are now tracked separately from your paid hours, and usage resets on your billing date instead of the 1st. Also in this update: clearer microphone guidance, a larger upload limit for English audio, and a notice when a pasted manuscript is too long to scan in one pass.
