ROUTINES, REDESIGNED Over 90 routines have been written and sorted by age, grouped into three families: - Independence: getting ready, tidying up, doing things alone - Living together: taking part in family life - Kindness: saying hello, thank you, helping, apologising Every routine now carries its own icon and its family colour. It can be set for the morning, the evening or both. Bonus routines are added in a single tap, outside the weekly plan. NEW: THE LEARNING SCREEN This is the big one. It lists every routine suited to your child's age, including those you have never set, and answers a single question for each: has it become part of their daily life? Habit research shows that habits take weeks to settle, not days. The reference study from University College London found a median of 66 days, and a 2024 meta-analysis covering 20 studies and 2,601 people found 59 to 66 days. The earliest repetitions bring the most progress, and consistency matters more than intensity. Our thresholds are deliberately gentler, because we are talking about children, but they rest on the same principles: - 30 completions - spread over at least 6 weeks - then 5 days in a row with no reminder from you Once the 30 completions are reached, you are offered a small test: for 5 days, say nothing. If your child keeps going alone, the routine holds without you. If not, no pressure, you simply go round again. The day it clicks, you are told, and a new routine is suggested in its place.
