Three safety tiers — Safe, Caution, Toxic — on every mushroom you find. Species ID, look-alike warnings, spore-print features. Not a foraging guide. Safe. Caution. Toxic. MushroomLens gives every mushroom you photograph a three-tier safety signal — plus species name, look-alike warnings, and spore-print features — for curious hikers and naturalists, never for the table. WHY MUSHROOM ENTHUSIASTS USE MUSHROOMLENS Identify, honestly about uncertainty. Aim at a cap, gills or stem and MushroomLens names the likely species with a confidence indicator, then opens a profile: common and scientific names, family, cap/gills/stem/ring/volva features, spore print color, habitat and season. When the photo isn't clear, it says so instead of guessing — a confident wrong answer is the dangerous one. A Safe / Caution / Toxic signal at a glance. Many edible-looking species have toxic, even deadly look-alikes. Every identification carries a three-tier flag — green, amber, red — and the profile names the dangerous twins to watch for. Learn the features that separate species. MushroomLens teaches you to look like a mycologist: how a spore print is taken and why color matters, how to read gill attachment and spacing, what a ring and a cup-like volva at the base mean, and how bruising and odor change an ID. Habitat, season and conservation. Each profile gives context — the trees a species associates with, the ground it favors, when it appears, and whether it is common or best left undisturbed. MushroomLens encourages observing, not stripping the woods. Build a personal field log. Save every mushroom you identify to a collection on your device. Track the species and families recorded, where and when you found them, and earn badges for new genera. Learn as you walk. Free in-app guides, no subscription needed: how confidence works and why fungi demand caution, how spore prints and gills narrow an ID, the famous toxic look-alike pairs and how experts tell them apart. HOW IT WORKS 1. Capture or pick a photo — frame the cap and, if you can, the gills and stem base in good light. 2. MushroomLens identifies the likely species with a confidence indicator and a Safe / Caution / Toxic signal. 3. Open the profile for features, spore print, habitat, season and look-alikes. 4. Save it to your field log and keep exploring. PRIVACY YOU CAN UNDERSTAND Your field log, history and preferences stay on your device. There are no accounts and no third-party trackers or advertising SDKs. When online recognition is enabled, the photo you scan is sent securely to our recognition service to look up the mushroom, is not retained, and is never used for advertising or tracking. A NOTE ON SAFETY — PLEASE READ MushroomLens is an educational identification and field-guide tool. It is NOT a foraging guide and NOT a medical or mycological authority, and it must NEVER be used to decide whether a wild mushroom is safe to eat. The app does not confirm edibility. Many mushrooms have toxic or deadly look-alikes that even experts examine in hand, under a microscope and with a spore print before concluding. Never eat a wild mushroom based on an app result. If you or anyone (including a child or pet) may have eaten a wild mushroom and feels unwell, contact a doctor, your local poison-control center or emergency services immediately. SUBSCRIPTION MushroomLens Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, offered weekly and annually (for example $12.99 per week or $89.99 per year; promotional pricing may be available). Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. It renews automatically at the same price and period unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings. Prices may vary by region. Terms of Use (https://mushroomlens.app/terms) and Privacy Policy (https://mushroomlens.app/privacy) are also available inside the app. Start with a single photo and get to know the fungi around you.
