What's new in Disband 1.17 • Stages: a new kind of voice channel for talks and events. Speakers are on stage and everyone else listens. Raise your hand to ask to speak, and accept when you're invited up. Moderators can start the stage with a topic, bring people up and move them back down. • Edit your messages: hold one of your own messages and tap Edit Message. Edited messages show "(edited)". • Paste images and GIFs straight into the message box from your clipboard or keyboard. GIFs stay animated. • Send photos and videos with a caption: they wait above the message box (up to 10) and go together with your text. • Spoilers: ||hidden text|| stays covered until you tap it. • Type @ to pick who to mention, including @everyone and roles where you're allowed to ping them. • @everyone and @here messages are now highlighted, just like a direct mention. • Your name's font and colour, profile colours and badges now show across the app, and you can edit them. Profiles also show what people are listening to on Spotify and what they're playing. • DMs and groups with unread messages sit on the side rail so you can jump straight in. • Hold a reaction to see who reacted. • Text channel names take dashes for spaces as you type, so you can link them as #hall-of-fame. • Fixed: leaving voice from the call bar always works now, even on a poor connection. • Fixed: if you're removed from a voice channel, the app now hangs up for you. • Fixed: chats no longer jump to the bottom while you're reading back, and messages don't send twice. • Plus other fixes and improvements.

What's new in Disband 1.16 • Message requests: people you share a space with can now message you. Their first message lands in Message Requests, and nothing moves to your DMs until you reply or accept. You can turn this off in Privacy settings. • Faster busy channels: large channels like #general open quicker, and scrolling up loads older messages as you go. • Snappier friends list: adding, accepting and ignoring friend requests is quicker. • Favourite GIFs now stay put after a reload and match across all your devices. • New Content Creator and Manager badges on profiles. • Fixed: the username check during sign-up now warns you when a name is already taken. • Plus smoother images and avatars, and other fixes.

What's new in Disband 1.15 Guild tags • Wear a tag from one of your spaces next to your name. Pick it from Profile → Guild tag. • Space owners can create a tag, with its own icon and colour, in Space settings once the space reaches Catalyst Level 3. Look the part • Avatar decorations now show on iOS, just like on desktop. • Badges use the same artwork as the web, including the new Manager and Content Creator badges. • Spaces show their Verified, Partner or Catalyst seal next to their name, along with their boost level. Calls • Calls now show "Connecting…" until audio is actually flowing, and the timer starts only once you're connected. • Incoming calls ring faster. • Ending a call from the Lock Screen or Dynamic Island now fully hangs up and turns off your microphone. Fixes and polish • Invite links are now proper disband.dev links, including custom invite codes. • If a profile picture can't be saved, you'll now see why. • Reactions removed by other people disappear straight away. • Group chats stay marked as read while you're reading them. • Notification links open the right chat. • Online status shows correctly. • Image layouts in chat no longer overflow the screen. • Signing out stops notifications for that account on this device.

Space Settings, everywhere • Owners and anyone with the right permissions can now manage a space from their phone: roles and permissions, members, bans, channels and categories, invites and the audit log. • Time out, kick or ban members, and hand out roles, right from their profile in Space Settings. • Choose whether your space appears in Discover. Discover • Browse public spaces by Popular or New. • Partner spaces now show their badge. Faster, smoother chat • Messages load and scroll noticeably faster, even in busy channels with long history. • A cleaner channel header shows how many people are online, and the message bar shows where you're typing. • Bot and webhook messages now show rich embeds and an APP tag. GIFs • GIFs no longer have extra space around them. • Tap a GIF and use the star to save it, then find all your saved GIFs in the new Favourites tab. Fixes and improvements • Large channels open at your latest messages instead of jumping back through history. • Typing indicators keep showing after you've typed yourself. • Member lists stay in a steady order and show who's online right now. • Mentions work with one-character usernames. • You can now cancel a subscription from the app. • Plus security and reliability improvements.

Disband 1.12 is our biggest update yet: a whole new look, plus voice. A NEW HOME • Your spaces now sit in a rail down the side, the same as on desktop. Tap one to see its channels, grouped by category. • A new floating dock takes you to Home, Friends, Notes and You. • Redesigned Friends, Notes and You screens. VOICE CHANNELS & GROUP CALLS • Join voice channels in your spaces and talk live with people on web, desktop and mobile. • Start a call right from any group chat, and everyone in the group gets a ring. • See who's in a voice channel before you join, and who's speaking once you're in. • Minimize a call to keep chatting while you talk. MAKE IT YOURS • Set a custom status with an optional timer, and add your pronouns. • Invite friends with your personal referral link and see where you rank. CHAT • Send videos as well as photos. • Bold, italics, headers and links now display correctly. • Channels you can't post in are clearly marked. FIXES • Discover shows "Open" for spaces you've already joined. • Group chats show the right member count. • Fixed profiles and space cards sometimes stretching off screen. • Plenty of smaller polish and performance improvements.

Tap a photo to look at it up close. MEDIA VIEWER • Any photo opens full screen — pinch, double-tap, and drag to zoom, swipe down to dismiss. • Videos play in the app instead of opening Safari. • Save what you want to your photo library, or share it straight from the viewer. LINKS • Link previews now come from Disband's own content network, so links in chat load faster instead of waiting on a slow third-party host. SENDING FILES • Files show their name and size instead of a generic paperclip. • Uploads show real progress as they go out, so a big video no longer looks frozen. REACTIONS • Reactions are bigger, and a press and hold shows you who reacted. CALLS • Calls you place or answer no longer lose their audio and mic the moment you leave the app — they keep working while you check something else. ADDING FRIENDS • Add a friend by their exact username. Searching now finds the person you were told to add, instead of listing everyone whose name contains those letters. FIXES • Badges wrap instead of running off the edge of the phone.

Profile badges, gifting, and a much faster member list. BADGES • Twenty-five profile badges, awarded for what you actually do on Disband — running a server that grows past 100 members, registering a bot, uploading emoji, reporting a bug that gets confirmed, or simply sticking around for a year. • Most are awarded automatically the moment you earn them. • Badges appear on profiles, with the marks that identify someone — staff, moderators, partners — beside their name in conversations. SUBSCRIPTIONS • Basic and Super now show as a badge that changes colour the longer you have been subscribed, from Bronze at one month through to Opal at ten years. • Tap the badge to see every tier, which one you have reached, and how far the next one is. GIFTING • Subscriptions can be gifted. A gift arrives in a conversation as a card, and the first person to claim it gets it. • Claiming launches your new plan with a rocket and lights up everything it unlocks. FIXES • Servers failed to load for anyone in a large server. They load again, and the member list arrives in a single request instead of hundreds. • @mentions are highlighted and tappable, and open a profile card for whoever was mentioned. • A reply to your message, or a mention of you, is marked so it stands out from the rest of the conversation. • Server owners and moderators can delete any message, not only their own. • Images and attachments are served from a new content network, so avatars and photos load noticeably faster.

A big update to calls, notifications and everyday chat. CALLS, REDESIGNED • A new full-screen call view with a blurred backdrop, a self-view you can drag into any corner and tap to enlarge, and controls that fade away until you tap. • Minimise a call and keep using Disband — servers, DMs and notes stay available while you talk. • Swipe to answer. Drag right to pick up, left to decline, with either end still tappable. • Answering on one device now stops your other devices ringing. • Calls connect through a relay, so they work on networks that previously couldn't establish a connection. NOTIFICATIONS • Push notifications now arrive for direct messages, group chats, mentions and friend requests — including when Disband is closed. • No banner for the conversation you already have open. CHAT • Server invites appear as a card you can join from, instead of a plain link. • Links show a preview with the page title and image. • GIFs play instead of showing a single frozen frame. • Emoji-only messages render large. • More space where a new person starts talking, so a conversation is easier to follow. • A bigger message box with the attachment button built into it. FRIENDS AND PROFILE • Search your friends list and sort it A–Z or by when you added someone, with anyone new pinned to the top. • Change your username from the app. • Redesigned server settings with a live preview of your icon, banner and name. • Unread conversations are marked and move to the top of the list. FIXES • Signing in no longer leaves an account looking empty — sessions are stored reliably and recovered rather than silently dropped. • Confirmation emails land on a page that tells you the address was verified. • Deleting a note removes it everywhere, on the phone and on the web.
