Ruiners is a collaborative maps app for marking, sharing, and talking about the places you love — and the ones that let you down. Think of it as a shared guidebook with margin notes from people you actually trust.. BUILD YOUR MAPS • Create your own maps — "Best Tacos in Austin," a honeymoon trip, a coffee crawl. • Pin places any way you like: search maps, long-press the map, or drop a pin at exact coordinates. • Give every place a category and a custom icon, and give each map its own look. REAL MAPS UNDERNEATH • Full map, place search, and accurate directions. • A "my location" button frames the map around where you are. • Sort your places alphabetically, by most recent, or by what's nearest right now, and filter a big map down by category with a tap. SHARE YOUR TAKE, TOGETHER • Write a description for each place and talk it through with friends in a threaded discussion. • Everyone on a map keeps it current together. INVITE FRIENDS, YOUR WAY • Share a map as an admin, editor, or viewer — you control exactly what each person can do. • Invite by username, or send a link to someone who isn't on Ruiners yet. STAY IN SYNC • Real-time in-app updates when someone adds a place or joins the conversation on your maps, with optional email and push notifications you fully control. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • Maps are private to the people you add. There's no public feed, and no way to browse or search anyone else's maps. • Want to show one off? Switch on a view link and anyone signed in to Ruiners who has that link can see a read-only copy. Switch it off and access ends. • Your email address is never shown to other users — only you ever see it. • Sign in with email, OAuth, or Apple, with optional two-factor authentication.
