Does Gallopa track horse rides with GPS?
Yes. Gallopa records your full route, distance, speed and elevation on a map, the way a running or cycling tracker does, but designed for horse riding.
Does it work offline with no signal?
Yes. GPS tracking does not need the internet, so Gallopa keeps recording your ride out on the trail and still draws your route with no signal.
Does Gallopa detect gaits automatically?
Yes. It automatically separates walk, trot, canter and gallop from your GPS and motion data, and shows the time and number of bouts for each gait.
How does the AI riding coach work?
You pick a video of your ride and the AI coach analyses your position and technique, scores six areas, and gives timestamped corrections and tips you can act on.
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. Gallopa works fully on iPhone. If you have an Apple Watch you can also track from your wrist and record heart rate.
Is my riding data private?
Your rides are stored on your device. Video is only sent for analysis when you choose to use the AI coach. You stay in control of your data.

Better gait detection in the arena
- Schooling and dressage rides used to show canter as trot, because a collected canter is genuinely slower than a working trot. Gallopa now recognises an arena ride and measures your gaits with arena speeds.
- On any ride you can now tap Adjust and tell Gallopa how it was ridden. The times are worked out again on the spot.
- Every ride you have already saved has been read again with the new rules.
- Time lost to a GPS dropout is now shown, instead of quietly disappearing from your gait totals.
- The same improvements apply to rides recorded on Apple Watch.

- Stopping a ride always saves it. Swipe on the rides list to delete a ride you do not want.
- The share card is offered when you want it, and never pushed on you.
