UV Sun Index

Live UV Index & Sun Safety

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Real-time UV index for your exact location, sunscreen reminders, and how long it's safe in the sun. Protect your skin and tan smarter — all in one simple app. UV Sun Index helps you enjoy the sun without getting burned. It shows the live UV index for your exact location, tells you when the sun is strong enough to tan, and reminds you when to reapply sunscreen — all in a warm, simple app. WHAT YOU GET • Live UV index — the current UV for your location, with an easy color scale from Low to Extreme. • Best time to tan — see when the sun is effective, and the strongest-sun hours to avoid. • Hourly UV forecast — a clear chart of how the UV rises and falls today. • Smart sunscreen timer — based on your skin type, SPF and the current UV, it counts down to your next reapply. • Safe-sun guidance — an estimate of how long you can stay out, plus practical tips. • UV alerts — get notified when the UV reaches your chosen threshold. • Your locations — save the places you care about and switch between them. HOW IT WORKS 1. Pick your skin type (Fitzpatrick I–VI) and your usual SPF. 2. Allow your location to get the live UV index where you are. 3. Tap "Apply" to start the sunscreen timer — and get reminded when to reapply. SUN SAFETY FIRST All times and advice are estimates, not medical advice. Skin sensitivity varies from person to person. Apply sunscreen generously, reapply after swimming, towel-drying or heavy sweating, seek shade around midday, and get out of the sun if your skin starts to burn — even if the timer is still running. There is no fully safe tan from UV exposure. UV data is provided by Open-Meteo.
