Lumen is a free AAC app (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) for people who cannot speak. It turns symbols and words into a clear spoken voice, so anyone can communicate, whether they tap or use the built-in Eye Tracking on iPhone and iPad. Built to be simple. No account, no setup, ready the moment you open it. HOW IT WORKS Choose a symbol or word and Lumen speaks it out loud. Build short sentences tile by tile, then speak the whole sentence with one tap. EYE TRACKING Works with the native iOS Eye Tracking accessibility feature. Large, well-spaced tiles are designed to be selected with the eyes, with no extra hardware needed. SEE THAT IT'S WORKING A weekly summary for caregivers shows how many words were spoken, the most used words, and words said for the first time. Lumen can also suggest hiding words that are never used, so the board gets shorter and easier to navigate. WORD PREDICTION Lumen suggests the next likely words as you go, so building a sentence takes fewer selections and less effort. Predictions learn from use and stay on the device. PERSONAL TILES Add your own tiles with a photo from your library or camera: family, favourite foods, places, daily routines. NATURAL VOICES Clear, natural voices in English and Polish, female or male. All built-in words are included in the app, so they play instantly and work fully offline from the first launch. A clearer, calmer Lumen, and a new way to see progress. - This week: a caregiver summary shows how many words were spoken, the most used words, and words said for the first time. - Shorter board: Lumen can suggest hiding words that are never used, so there are fewer pages to get through. Hidden words can be restored any time. - New high-contrast look with bold, easy-to-read tiles in Light and Dark Mode. - Tiles now respond visibly and with a gentle haptic when selected. - Word suggestions no longer repeat words already on the screen. - Better accessibility: text grows with Larger Text, and VoiceOver can reach Settings and read the sentence you built. - Show the welcome screen again from Settings. - Larger Settings on iPad, faster performance with long-term use, and photo tiles now fit their rounded corners.
