iPhone
A nudge at sunrise and at sunset, timed on your phone to the sun where you are. Log your morning light from the widget. Now readable at any text size.
Get the right light at the right time. Seize Light reads where you are and the sky above you, computes the sun's real position on your device, and shows your daily light windows — when to get outside, and when to wind down.
Most sun apps just show today's UV number. Seize Light shows your two windows: a morning-light window to help set your body clock, and the vitamin-D window — the part of the day the sun is high enough to make vitamin D — plus an evening wind-down to help protect your sleep. Your Apple Watch's Time in Daylight turns it into a passive daily habit, with a transparent Light Score and a streak.
YOUR THREE WINDOWS
• Morning light — get outside soon after waking to help set your clock; today's target minutes adjust for cloud cover.
• Vitamin-D window — opens when the sun is high and UV is strong enough, and closes when it isn't (it tells you why). Keep it short and sub-erythemal.
• Evening wind-down — when to dim the lights and protect your sleep.
THE LIGHT SCORE
A simple, transparent 0–100 score from three parts — morning light, daylight total, and evening protection — fed by your Apple Watch's Time in Daylight. Missing data is never held against you. Build a daylight streak and watch your 90-day trend.
EVERY NUMBER IS CITED
The solar math, the UV model, and the vitamin-D estimate all trace to published science in an in-app "How this works" screen.
HONEST BY DESIGN
• UV comes from weather-forecast data (Apple Weather), not a sensor.
• Vitamin-D output is an estimate from a model, not a blood test.
• Sun safety first: protection is advised at UV 3+, and the rule is always — don't burn.
• General wellness and educational use only — not medical advice. Consult a healthcare professional before making health decisions.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No account. No sign-up.
• The solar and vitamin-D math run on your device; only coarse coordinates are sent, for the weather lookup.
• Health data is read-only and never leaves your device, except to sync through your own private iCloud — and it is never used for advertising.

Ratings & Reviews

Easier to read, easier to hit — and the reminders you may not have noticed.
ACCESSIBILITY
Every big number now responds to your text size. Set Larger Text and the lux reading, the Light Score, your session dose and the trends figures all scale with it, instead of staying stubbornly small.
"Start a sun session" and the Apple Weather link were smaller tap targets than Apple's minimum. Both are now comfortably tappable wherever you press them.
The safety text — the "not medical advice" and "don't burn" lines — is darker. It was the least legible copy in the app, which is the wrong way round for the copy that matters most.
ANALYTICS, OFF UNLESS YOU SAY SO
Settings now has "Share anonymous analytics". It is off, nothing is collected until you turn it on, and it cannot be used to track you across other apps or websites.
WHILE YOU'RE HERE — WHAT ARRIVED IN THE LAST UPDATE
The release notes for that one described the wrong version, so in case you missed it:
Reminders now reach you outside. Seize Light can tell you when your morning light is ready and when to start winding down. The times are computed on your device from the sun where you are, so they move with the season. Nothing is sent to a server and there is no account. You are asked once during setup, with everything else off — say no and the app asks for nothing.
Log from your Home Screen. Add the medium widget and it carries a single button: your morning light before the evening wind-down, your evening protection after. One tap, without opening the app — which is the point, because the thing being logged happened outdoors.
Your sun sessions are kept. The dose-and-burn session used to throw everything away when you left the screen. It now records your minutes, the estimated vitamin D, the peak UV and where you stopped relative to a burn. Trends gains a card for the week, and a session in your morning window counts as your morning light so you are not asked to report the same thing twice.
