Your iPhone writes a few small things to find outdoors, and you photograph each one you spot. It needs no signal, so a street you have never walked works like your own.
A calm, private way to go outside and notice what's already there.
Foray turns your own surroundings into a small game. Ask for a round and your phone composes a handful of little discovery quests — "a door older than you," "somewhere you can hear water," "a red thing above eye level." You go find them in the real world, wherever you happen to be, and keep a photo of each. There is no map, no destination, and no list of places to visit. Foray doesn't send you anywhere — it gives you a way of looking at where you already are.
What Foray does:
- Composes fresh, abstract quests on your iPhone — different every round, made to work on any street, in any town.
- Confirms you actually got outside, computed quietly on your device — never a target to walk to, never a coordinate shown.
- Keeps each round's photos as a calm, place-less keepsake you can look back on.
What Foray never does:
- No map, no destination, no real-place lookup — it never points you anywhere.
- No account, no sign-up, no tracking, no streaks, no badges.
- Nothing leaves your phone. Your location and your photos stay on your device.
Foray is safe by design: because it never hands you a place to go, it can't send you somewhere you shouldn't be. A quiet reminder to mind your surroundings and respect private property is always there while you play, and you can skip any quest you can't reach.
Quest composition runs entirely on your iPhone. On devices with Apple Intelligence it uses the on-device FoundationModels framework; everywhere else it uses Foray's built-in quest library. Either way, there is no account, no server, and no cloud.
SUBSCRIPTION TERMS
Foray offers three ways to unlock unlimited rounds, every themed pack, home-neighbourhood mode, and your full photo-foray history:
- Weekly $4.99 — auto-renewing subscription, 7-day free trial for new subscribers.
- Annual $29.99/year — auto-renewing subscription, 7-day free trial for new subscribers only.
- Lifetime $49.99 — one-time non-consumable purchase, no subscription.
Payment will be charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew at the same price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renew at any time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you purchase a subscription.
