• Globetrail now speaks German and Simplified Chinese • Every translation has been reviewed by hand: French, Spanish, Russian and English read naturally, and hundreds of UNESCO sites carry their real names — Tyre, Mỹ Sơn and Jelling are no longer translated word for word • On a tinted or clear Home Screen, the map widgets now fill your visited countries with their flags when you choose flags • My Globetrail stays in place instead of sliding sideways • Settings have a fresh look: the Globetrail logo at the top, color-coded icons, tidier groups and an About section with the version and who makes the app • Privacy and support open in your language, and Terms of Use open Apple's standard terms instead of a missing page

• Countries filled with their flag show the whole flag whatever their shape — Russia is no longer only blue: stripes stay whole, emblems stay in view, and the flag's own colours reach every island • Flag emblems land on land — the crest, star or canton goes to the country's main landmass, not to the sea in the middle of its box, and Australia, Fiji, Haiti, Jordan, Malawi, Malaysia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Western Sahara have their flag placed by hand • Japan shows its sun — the red disc sits whole on Honshu instead of falling into the Sea of Japan — and Belize is blue with its red stripes and coat of arms instead of a red country • Flag pins on the map stay crisp after a pinch: a zoom no longer leaves every flag half-transparent until the next launch, only unvisited countries are translucent • The Apple Maps notice sits just above the panel when it is at its lowest, and stays there — it no longer jumps as the panel moves, floats mid-screen or loses the Apple logo • The Overview widget shows its map and numbers on iPhone instead of its placeholder • iCloud sync is more robust: a device that lost track of the cloud — a reinstall, a data reset from another device — publishes its whole history again instead of only its latest changes, and keeps receiving the other devices' updates in the background • Corrected the Italian translation — about eighty UNESCO sites are named as the real places again, the interface reads naturally, and the share card counts "1 paese visitato" • New App Store screenshots for iPhone and iPad

• Globetrail now runs natively on iPad — the map fills the screen and everything else lives in a side panel beside it, so you browse countries, wonders and UNESCO sites without ever covering the map • Added trackpad, mouse and keyboard support — pan and pinch the vector map, controls light up on hover, ⌘F jumps to the search, Esc closes a map callout and ⌘[ goes back from any detail • Onboarding, recovery and the paywall keep a readable column on wide screens, map pins stay crisp on iPad and external displays, and the app opens in a single window • Your iPhone and iPad now stay in sync on their own through iCloud — visited countries and places, favourites, hidden countries, your name, birth country and profile photo converge within seconds, with nothing to press and nothing stored outside your own iCloud • A new device picks up the profile already in iCloud, so onboarding no longer asks for what it knows, and backups now carry your profile and photo, not just your visits • Added the Overview widget — map and statistics in one glance, large on iPhone and iPad, extra-large on iPad — and a Progress widget for the Lock Screen • Widgets refresh the moment you hide a country or change the fill style, keep their map on a tinted Home Screen, leave hidden countries out of the counts, and show their names in all five app languages • Fixed the Statistics widget showing its placeholder, wonder counters wrapping onto two lines, and a widget added right after onboarding reading 0/0 instead of your birth country • Verified every one of the 203 countries — area, population, official languages, currency, native name, calling code and domain — so Canada, the Dominican Republic and Monaco show their real size, Bulgaria is on the euro, and Taiwan no longer shares a copied population • Countries go by their official names — Türkiye, Czechia, Cabo Verde, Côte d'Ivoire, Timor-Leste, Brunei Darussalam — the Vatican and Monaco show 0.49 km² and 2.08 km² instead of rounding to nothing, and languages and currencies read in the language you've selected • Completed the UNESCO list — 37 missing sites are in, including Côte d'Ivoire's four, the Vatican, Jerusalem and every site inscribed at the July 2026 session, with the List in Danger current as of July 2026 • Every place now has a photo that loads — 74 broken images replaced, and all photos served as light Wikimedia thumbnails instead of multi-megabyte originals, each with its author and licence • Wonders that are also UNESCO sites — Chichén Itzá, Moai, Alhambra, the Acropolis, Timbuktu — are one place instead of two pins, with your visits carried over; the Alhambra pin no longer sits 67 km north of Granada, and Stonehenge and the Acropolis are dated BC again • Existing installs receive the corrected catalogue on the next launch, with visits, favourites and hidden countries untouched • Going back from a chain of details — a wonder opened from its country, the country from a wonder — returns to the tab you started from • A site shared by several countries, like Jerusalem or the Dead Sea, keeps its name readable under each of them in the UNESCO list • Sharing your progress now shows your name, your last country and your world percentage instead of streaks and goals • Search finds countries even without accents, and a place's original name is never printed twice under the name above it

• Improved pinch-to-zoom on the vector map — it now zooms exactly where you place your fingers, the way Photos does, and lets you zoom and move the map at the same time, so you land on the country you meant • Fixed country names appearing twice — a country's native name is now compared against its name in the language you've selected instead of against English, so it only shows when it actually adds something • Restored native names that your language doesn't share — in Italian, France, the United States and Chile show their own names again, in the country list, the detail header, and the identity card • Extended the same rule to capitals, wonders, and places, so an original name is never printed twice under the name above it
